its too expensive , u can learn to do the almost same effect from Solomon , not very sure what it is called ^_^ |
unless its solomon's creation, he's not entitled to teach it. and i suppose u dun noe what its called cos he doesnt credit the person whom he stole it from?

It's a move from Ray Kosby's Impossible Card Magic. Of course, the name of the video should give you a rough idea of its difficulty. Ray Kosby himself, Paul Wilson, Bone and Huron all do the move well. I haven't seen anyone else that can perform it properly though. It's an ambitious card move with an outjogged card.

oh.... i think i saw huron performing it at the competittion event when the UK dude asked him to perform a trick. man that looked great. he outjooged the chosen card and he did a charlier i think and the card went back on top. no idea how he did that. so u mean its all in the Ray Kosby's Impossible Card Magic? now i feel like gettting the vid.
Moondust - January 24, 2005 07:16 PM (GMT)
Raise Rise is a move that is difficult...even Huron says that it's VERY difficult. So far, I've seen Huron do a 2 stage Raise Rise and Impossible Card Magic teaches 3 stage Raise Rise, plus a couple of other effects that you can incorporate using the move.
Impossible Card Magic is definitely worth it if you're an intermediate card performer. I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner because many of the techniques explained are far from easy to execute.
Escalator's expensive (I DON"T CARE!!! IT'S WAY COOL!!!), because it uses mechanics to achieve the effect that Raise Rise can only partially do, with minimal skill. That's perfect for a card fumbler like me. I heard that Solomon actually practiced Raise Rise for 2 years and even though he can do it practically, he hasn't perfected it yet. $140 divided by 24 months = $5.83 per month.
Not a bad investment considering I don't have to bust my pinky to get a killer ACR ending.
I'm ordering from Cynwell as soon as I get my pay. Will do a complete review done for you guys after I try it out. Meanwhile, I'll KEEP PRACTISCING RAISE RISE!!!

Taken from Magic forum for your interest.
This review takes into consideration the following things on a scale of 1 - 5:
1. Quality of Construction
2. Instructions
3. Skill Required
4. Usefulness
5. Audience Impact
6. Price/Value
7. Downside
8. Overall Rating
Quality of Construction: The Escalator is well built and is a high quality item. It should last for a very long time, and if necessary, instructions on the DVD show how to replace the card box which might get worn over time as any card box would. It comes in Red or Blue. I got mine in Red as I use mostly Red Bicycle decks.
Rating 4
Instructions: The Instructions come on DVD and give you a good performance sequence, plus a variety of different ideas for effects using the Escalator. Each of these additional effects is shown is detail. The explanation about replacing the card box is also clear and very understandable. In addition to the Escalator itself, you get a standard deck of 52 cards, plus the two Jokers and two advertising cards, a double backer, and several Small envelopes for a very powerful “Envelope” finds a card effect which is one of my favorites. This effect is fully explained on the DVD. You also get explanations for a couple of deck switches that are not necessary for the basic effect, but very useful for some of the more advanced effects.
Rating 4
Skill Required: The most basic routine with the Escalator can be easily performed within an hour of receiving the Escalator. It takes no real skill to have a card visibly go down through the deck, and visibly come back to the top of the deck. However it does take some practice to get comfortable thinking about the angles exposures, which are few, but definitely present without proper handling. Extra practice will be needed to learn the additional effects, but it will be well invested.
Rating 4
Usefulness: After using the Escalator for a little while you will start to seed your thought process and you will be coming up with your own additional uses and effects. I have already submitted two of my ideas, and you can send in your tips, and there will be a tips section on Yendor’s website for owners of the Escalator. The Escalator is a cross between a utility device, and an effect. This is definitely not a one trick pony. Rating 4
Audience Impact: The Escalator is definite WOW Item. The basic Escalator move of the card visibly moving through the deck is a killer. But some of the bonus effects will impress the audience as near miracles.
Rating 5
Price/Value: The Escalator costs $99.95 plus shipping. It is well made, and has a strong effect on all audiences.
Rating 4
Downside: The Escalator is a Close up effect. So if you want a parlor effect, or a stage effect, this isn’t it. If you aren’t a working magician, $99 is a lot of money for a card effect, although the Escalator is far better than a trick deck that only allows one effect. That is because the Escalator can produce a number of very powerful effects capitalizing on the basic principle. You will likely settle on one for it, but the deck is a normal deck and can therefore be used following the Escalator effect.
