Title: I Need A New Wallet
Description: Not to keep cash tho...
PalmLine - November 19, 2008 02:17 AM (GMT)
Hey guys, it's been a while since I last posted. But I have been lurking around all this while to read your posts. Hope I'm still welcomed to ask for your kind help.
Basically I wanna get a new wallet. Not for my cash and coins but rather to keep:
1. A few namecards
2. Pambudi's tricks (Circle, Square and star prediction)
3. 3 or 4 other cards (Debit cards, Student pass, and other membership cards.)
So I was thinking of getting a gimmick wallet since this wallet is already a wallet full of impromptu close-up or mentalism tricks. Might as well use a gimmick wallet to perform more impromptu miracles.
I used to carry around a wallet just for Kolossal Killer but the wallet I bought for it (ungimmicked) was a bit too bulky for my pockets.
Other gimmicked wallets I already have are:
1. Thought Transmitter
2. Fire Wallet
3. Lee Earle's Insight Wallet
The fire wallet is more for stage (I don't wanna stick a flammable sticker on my pants and smell like a zippo) and the Thought Transmitter has basicaly no compartments for other cards. The Insight wallet is too big for my pockets.
I have researched on,
Heirloom wallet and Stealth Assasin Wallet
But having not seen these products in real life, I'm not sure if they can carry extra cards.
My other criterias are:
1. The wallet should be a small pocket sized one.
2. The gimmick should not be cumbersome to prepare (like fire wallet you need to constantly refill).
3. Looks inconspicuous. (Duh)
If any of you guys already own some of these wallets or other types I haven't mentioned, hope you guys can give me more details, or introduce me to another wallet or convince me to just get a normal cheap wallet and fill it with small papers to do center-tears :P
Thanks So Much

Hey PalmLine,
The wallet I'm currently using is a hip style wallet that I purchased from Steven at Magic Supreme. It's about 55 dollars and looks pretty good. He's got a few variants I think but you can go down to his shop and ask him about it.
As far as I know, the wallets he sells are still the best quality I have ever bought (and I've got quite a number over the years in my quest for a good wallet I can use for my favourite 'card to wallet' effect). The best part is he is usually nice enough to let me get a feel of the wallet in case it's not what I'm looking for. Beats ordering online only to find out that what you ordered is not what you need - and that happens very very often.
I'd suggest that you make a trip down to his new shop and check things out.

Yea, it's been a while since I last visited Uncle Steven. I will make a trip to chinatown after my exams end next week. Nonetheless there are wallets out there that most magic dealers don't bring in like the Stealth Assasin (too expensive maybe). And some wallets are exclusively sold by the creator like the Outlaw Magic products.
I'm currently looking at the Magnum and Panther wallets by Outlaw Magic. Many good reviews on the net. But I'm just afraid that it's mostly hype since Outlaw does have many 'fans' who pre-order and give good reviews about every product they sell.
I guess, I'll visit the local dealers to see what they can offer before making a purchase online.
Nonetheless, if anyone else got suggestions let me hear 'em!

I've seen the stealth assassin wallet before. Its definitely pocket size and can put a few cards inside. Not too bad, and i like the things you can do with it, though i don't own it. Too expensive for me, and i like to have loads of cards with me. Anyway, it's not bad, i haven't tried/seen others except for Jardonnet, which you mention that you don't want..

Not sure about the kind of effects you're looking to perform, but since you mentioned the SAW, Magnum and Panther, I'll chip in.
I'm on the SAW (before that, the original Stealth), and you can literally get a good solid 30min act with just this wallet alone. It takes billets, your cash (folded) and 3 or 4 essential cards. This has been my everyday wallet for a few years now, and of course, during my shows.
The other wallet I use (only when working) is the Panther. The effects you can create with the Panther are similar to the SAW, but all in all the SAW stores more of your everyday stuff. There is one function of the Panther that handles far better than the SAW, and that is the only reason I continue to use it.
The Magnum operates similarly to the Panther, but it is of a different size (slightly larger) and holds some cash as well. I still prefer the Panther, but the Magnum has the really cool 3m technology for p**k.
Hope that was of value.

Hey nique, thanks for that.
I sent a private msg to Roth (Outlaw owner) and he said that the two wallets are the same size when closed. And that he recommends the magnum since it's of better quality leather andthe 3M tech.
