There are quite a few tricks that makes use of the Magic Square but i came across a book that mentioned about Derren brown using the Magic Square Effect as the encore for his 2004 UK tour.Hope Anyone with more information about his presentation, can share a little about his presentation.

As far as i know, Darren brown doesnt really perform anything from his books. His mentalism performances are exclusive and because of that, it is difficult to get any information on his presentation. In fact any form of description of what he is performing is considered exposure by many because many of those performances are done live. As such, in the event people actually knew what he was going to do might in fact ruin his performances if by luck you get selected to be his spectator.

But i do know that he usually does it asking spectator to think of a number and the magic square does the work. As for anything else im just as clueless or even worse than you. Magic square can be hardwork in the beginning but im sure with ample practice any layman can do it pretty quick. But what sets layman and darren brown is probably his integration of magic squares to his performances.

I am not sure about Derren Brown's magic square. But if you are looking for one, you will find an effect in John Archer's DVD.
