Title: Reveal It.

I think I have asked this before, but I just want some fresh ideas..

Let's say you know the identity of a selected card. What is your most preferred way of revelation? Preferrably a way that would not even raise the suspicion that you might some prior knowledge.

Hi bro,

I'm quite limited in my choices so pardon me

Maybe moving pips? since people usually too engrossed over the effect of moving pips rather than the fact you forced it on them. I just did it 2days back with pretty good audience results.

Stigmata maybe since the long patter thereafter might distract them enough to forget the whole point that you know something.

Or maybe can try modifying Gaustaferro's Lost and found to fit your revelation. Think its pretty cool too.

Recently, I came up with an economical and interesting way of revealing a selection which I thought was great for walk around situations like parties and dinners.

I haven't tried the idea yet but I shall just share with you guys. I will have the number and symbols of the 52 cards printed on a piece of paper. AceSpade, TwoSpade and so on. Put the paper in an envelope and you are ready to go.

You can actually reveal the spectators card by tearing off the correct part and give it to them as a souvenir. To not arouse suspicion, tell them you have their card printed on your paper as a prediction way before hand. The rest I suppose everyone will know what to do, its like a joke similar to the 52 card on 1 gag.

Why I say its great for walk around is that by the time you finish a few tables/ a few people, you should have a few tore parts on your paper. Should the same card somehow selected before was selected again, tell your spectator(s) that you have tore a few parts off as predictions (like buying lottery). Ask them if you have theirs tore off and then go on the reveal it. (I don't think they will suspect anything as you have a several prediction)

This is my latest 'creation' to reveal spectators' card.
Feel free to use it if you like, but im afraid you have to make the Reveal paper yourself because I have not made it yet.

To muscleaxl, I am always looking for fresh ideas to reveal cards as well. Sometimes just merely naming it or finding it bores the spectators and me myself as well. Because there is no reaction really.

Ok, maybe I would rephrase my question a bit...

The reason I'm asking this question is because by revealing the selection straight away might lead to the method.

Eg:

Spec picked a card, I g******ed it, and I name it.
Spec: "Hey you must have seen it somehow...?!"

I F a card upon spec and I show I have a duplicate of his selection in my pocket which I have "put it in last night".
Spec: "Hmm... how would he know? Unless......"

I used a M****d D**k and I name his selection.
Spec:"Let me check that damn thing..."

(All the above are real-life situations I've face)

The revelation I'm looking for is the "in between" work you go through before you reveal the selection, thus there is no way for them to backtrack, besides like what MagicLobo has pointed out, it can also be quite boring.

I think there are ways and time misdirection to counter such a response. Like the one with the glimpse, you can add time misdirection like asking the spectator to write the card down, and keeping the deck out of sight. So there will be no association with the deck and the revelation.

Similarly, you can ***m off the dup on the off beat and then show your card in pocket.
