Thank you. Hopefully more tricks like "this" will be around!

Amazing. At least you used a bigger ball than the one Hugh Jackman uses. ;)

Well, it really looked quite nice on video. But would you be using it in real life situations?

I'm not trying to put you down or what, but IMO, I think it is not that a practical effect. Perhaps only magicians might appreciate.

Thank you. Actually im thinking of getting a proper metal bob like his. It looks more classy. Mine was just some plastic crap. Smaller ones would not have angle problems.

No worries! I hate effects that are not practical.

I haven't quite found the right angle for this effect, but i have performed it 4 times already to lay people. Not a problem. No hecklers yet?

I've done it sitting down most of the time. It should be the most appropriate angle. In standing up situations i have to turn a little. Doesn't look natural, but gets the job done.

If you are talking bout practical as in bringing a ball around... it works for me cause it fits into my pocket. I have no "routine" for it, but its just nice to do this after i do a nabil change from a coin to this little ball and it seems like people quite appreciate the kind of magic where you just wave your hands.

Fantastic job Wei Liang, it was really smooth. You just gave Raven a run for its money. Haha...

In terms of practicality, it really depends at the end of the day how you structure it. From the way you describe, changing a coin into the ball and then making it vanish as per your video is good. Because the change will give that element of surprise and just as you they're trying to allow the surprise to sink in, you would have vanished the ball as per your video, which brings an elegant closure to the routine.

Do you normally do it with patter or you let the magic speak for itself? I can imagine that with a nice patter, it can be a very engaging routine. Here's an idea you can play around with. A patter about the mystery of science and nature creates elements of illusion (Bam, produce coin) and these elements have the natual ability to tranced through time and travel from pole to pole... (do a RV and reproduce from above). Sometimes, it can travel from coast to coast (perfom MP, gd to add something visual here) and when the time is ripe, it transforms itself to show its real self (execute transformation). However, nothing lasts forever and soon elements fade through time just like an optical illusion (vanish your ball). Sit back bow and receive your applause...

Ok, I just wrote the above at the top of my head so might not sound very good. Maybe you can come up with something better and we can share ideas. Good job, keep it up, hope to see you perform in real time next time... :)

Cheers
Jerome

Ok, when I said practical, I meant angles.

If you are doing it as a standalone effect, I would say it is quite meaningless. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it doesn't look "magical", but people would just go "wow, nice... how you do it huh?" Puzzling... but not too meaningful.

If it is incorporated into a routine, then it might be better. Hope to see your routine using this next time.

Anyway, no hecklers doesn't necessary means no problem. Yes, maybe in their mind they just doesn't feel the meaning too. I could be wrong....

I understand this. Dtjk mentioned to me once how magic should'nt be like a puzzle to solve. I believe that Derren Brown mention it before in his lecture. I did it as a standalone effect. But, for me, standalone not = no presentation. With just a bit of presentation(actually even without) they still go "wow, nice... how you do it huh?

Will try to build it up! I wanted a full ball routine. But i don't know of any resource that teach anything about small balls. :( So actually its really limited.

:D But it still need a bit of work cause more often than not the coin ends up in JW Grip and ill transfer that into finger palm and put it in my pocket first. Quite...."not magical"

Do a search for 3 ball routines and you'll be surprise that there are actually many routines.
I know David Roth, Danny Archer and Aldo Colombini has some good routines. You can do a 2 in the hand and one in the pocket routines and incorporate your move into it.

Thanks! Will take a look. By far there is only one 3 ball routine i manage to find on youtube -billard -juggle -sponge

Maybe youtube isnt a good source for learning it?

Well, I think Bobo would have the 2 in the hand routine which can be adapted to balls
