Hi,
i'm just wondering is it worth it to get the Tarantula by Yigal Mesika
especially when some of the effects can be done by regular IT?
(In fact i just improvised one of the tarantula moves myself using a 5 dollar IT)
I'm new to IT and planning to get ITR, should i get Tarantula
and use it for all my ITR routines in future?
In addition, what threads do you recommend?
Thank you for your kind help :)
(Sorry i don't know which forum this goes to, so i post it here, was
looking for PK but can't find it or i haven't look harder)
regards,
bladehammie
Hi,
In response to your query. I think you have to be comfortable using IT in performances in the first place before you should consider getting any reel for that matter. Over the years, I've used quite a few different reels. I don't own tarantula. But I personally think that the type of reel will only matter if you are comfortable working with IT.
Today, I only use loops in my performances. Reason for that is I feel it is more convenient. And i have a couple of effects at hand with it, though I usually only perform the valentine's pack effect by John George. All in all, you wont want to be performing a series of effects at one go with that same tool.
With that said, IT is always quite a hassle to work with, but with some getting used to, you'll do fine. For me personally, "loops" is more than good enough. No need for me to worry about wax.
So, just imagine if you have a gadget that can pull your IT from or into somewhere, how will that improve your existing routines? Does it give you a better animation? Or does it make things more convenient for you? If that's what you are looking for, then converting to reels might be what you need. But if your existing hookups and everything works fine, there's not really much need for you to convert although having a new toy in hand can open up new possibilities for you.
Good luck.
Hi AhLiShuFi,
