Hi mates, i saw Lu chen and a local respected magician visit our local magic shop last month.I capture his photo. It was amazing to see him.

muscleaxl - March 31, 2009 09:06 AM (GMT)
Ok, where is the photo?

Jlowhy - March 31, 2009 06:12 PM (GMT)
Lucky you! I realised this only recently when I looked at Lu Chen's blog where he wrote about coming to Singapore for a few days as he was hired for a show.

Anyways, welcome to SMC and hope to see you around!

shio - March 31, 2009 06:27 PM (GMT)

I know it's with you, that's why ask you to share with us. If not what's the point of telling us without letting us share in your happiness.

shio - April 1, 2009 02:10 AM (GMT)
Do you want a copy of it?

Ya ya it is like talking Cr*P =.=

muscleaxl - April 5, 2009 02:19 AM (GMT)
Shio, just come straight to the point!!

1. If you want to share your wonderful experience of seeing Lu Chen, just post the photo here. YES, I am sure we ALL want to see!!

2. And I don't see why you can't reveal the local magician's name. What's so mysterious about it? Unless you are badmouthing him and afraid to be sued...

Magicdow - April 5, 2009 12:55 PM (GMT)
Shio must be enjoying himself with this time wasting post. Don't get upset with such people.

shio - April 5, 2009 04:00 PM (GMT)
Please be patient, its not i don't want to reveal the magician name. As their friend, i have to ask them for permission for the respect of it. Lu Chen visited this shop for a privacy discussion and he will return back again soon.

shio - April 5, 2009 04:16 PM (GMT)
I have asked. They are Jeremy Peh and Jay.

shio - April 5, 2009 04:37 PM (GMT)
I try to load the picture but can't be save.Any other alternative to upload in it? This is his website http://www.jeremypei.com

muscleaxl - April 5, 2009 05:15 PM (GMT)
No disrepect to Lu Chen, Jeremy Pei and Jay, whoever that is... but FYI, we've people here who hang out with legends like Lennart Green, Allan Ackerman, Daryl etc and I don't see them using the "must- ask- them permission- to- tell" thingy.

Why? Unless you spotted them at Orchard KTV instead of some magic shop....

For myself, I've taken pictures with Lennart Green, smoked with Uncle Bob Chua, drank beer with Enrico, had coffee with Shen Juncai, played poker with Soo Chan Hua all well-respected magicians (to say the least) locally and internationally.

Heck! I even went to chalet with a pretty famous local "illusionist" duo before. So what's the big deal?

Not to spice things up, but to spell one's name correctly is also a respect don't you think ? :P

Also, if (i said if) you snap Lu Chen's photo without his permission, isn't that a breach to the one you so called privacy ? :P

shio - April 6, 2009 06:15 AM (GMT)
Its good for you then.Yes,no people say is a big deal.Because Lu Chen point of contact in singapore is both Jay and Jeremy only. He is doing a coporate gig here and went there for a closed door discussion. You have to understand why i have to ask at least as a respect because they are dealing with a high profile magician. I ask their permission as a respect of jay too.I believe he does not like unwanted attention from the newbies to his shop because Lu Chen went to find him. In order to play safe, that is why i ask before release the picture.

Then you shouldn't start this thread in the first place.

I suggest to close the thread then ;)

Lu Chen's face is already everywhere in youtube and the internet anyway. For us who can't even see his photo here in Singapore is a misfortune then. Just let this thing go :D

I have send the pictures via msn to some of our mates who have pm me.I still unable to post up the picture.Any information on the steps to post up the picture in this forum?

bigbadwolf - April 6, 2009 04:18 PM (GMT)

shio - April 6, 2009 05:56 PM (GMT)

Bigbadwolf has a point here.At least you understand why i need to ask as a respect.Be it the person is Richard Ang,Uncle bob or Jc sum,i would still ask as a respect too.javascript:emoticon('^_^')

To re-iterate on Magicdow's point if you haven't gotten it:

If it's a private issue/event, you should NOT even have posted about it in the first place. By doing so and then later acting all secretive about the matter, it just makes people feel like you're seeking attention.

In addition, did you ask Lu Chen for permission personally before you posted online that you saw him at a local shop with other magicians? If you did not, by your own logic, aren't you being disrespectful too?

Your post would have been more meaningful if perhaps you had some personal, meaningful interactions with Lu Chen and you shared about the encounter. What good is it if I were to perhaps only say "Hey everyone, I took a picture with Mac King!" and said nothing else? It would seem like I'm just crying for attention. Wouldn't it be more meaningful to share on how it came about and whether anything came out of the encounter?

And if nothing meaningful came out of it, then I don't see any point to posting. I hope you understand why you have been taken to task with your post.

shio - April 7, 2009 04:25 AM (GMT)
I think you have think too much. I am not seeking attention. The main purpose is while waiting for their response,i let our members know he did came to singapore. The media knew it too. There isn't anything to make a big hooha of this. The only issue is "i ask for their permission before posting up the picture" Whats wrong in that? Its a kind gesture. I believe those who knew jay and jeremy will seek their approval too. Those members who frequent to jay shop are aware of it.There is no secrecy, just a matter of respect by asking permission. Those who have got the pictures from me are happy with it.There isn't any point to debate on this issue anymore.

Magicdow - April 7, 2009 07:50 AM (GMT)
Yeah, this is probably the most time wasting thread in SMC, but i think some of us got a laugh though ;) . No point debating anymore.
