Hi did anybody else catch the show ?

Here's my lil 2 cents.

I happened to reach early and was very surprised at the long line outside the theater. Within minutes of opening the doors, the audience were quickly seated.
Kudos to team

I really enjoyed Kiki tay's act, very well choreographed, and precise. His linking hangers had a very legitimate reasoning of hanging his clothes. Very commendable and refreshing. So good was it that he had the audience clapping to the beat of Speedy Gonzales. Although i had seen his cartoon animation the previous time at SAM's show, it still is a timeless classic that entertains the kids, and brings nostalgia to the parents.

Danny and Nique performed a Spirit Cabinet where they got a burly rugger looking kinda guy and a svelte young lady to come up as witnesses. Nique's presentation set the mood, however i felt that the music playing drowned out his voice and killed the mood he was working to create.

The children were entertained by the acts of Gician Tan and Andrew Kong. Daisy Ho also performed giving the show some much needed 女人味. Jeremy Pei came and performed his award winning act.

Alex Tan also performed his sichuan Face-changing with an Appearing Cane, and a Snow-storm worked into it. Some parts that i really found disappointing was when he finished pouring water into a glass in between his snowstorm and started to splash the water droplets into the audience. Alex also performed a modern version of the classic sands of Arabia, that had everyone amazed.

Now the most appalling part of the ENTIRE show, was when Alex tan was trying desperately to warm up the audience that he cracked a joke that really made me cringe. I'm sure those who were there gets my drift. Definitely not something you would say to your parents, much less your audience.
I understand Alex Tan is the self-professed Bad Boy of Magic, but even then this is not Vegas. I still have to give him some credit for backtracking halfway thru the show and educating the children in the audience that they shouldn't smoke, although his reasoning was not really politically correct.

Of course who can forget that excited old man that was so happy and delighted that he was asked to go upstage to check the metamorphosis box. I would imagine that he was transported back to days when he first volunteered for a magician...

It is not easy pulling off a show such as this, especially on such a scale. kudos once again to the team at SAM who made the whole show possible.

I went to watch the show too and overall it was not too bad. But I was coughing and sort of sick so didnt really manage to enjoy everything properly. (I think the person beside me was looking at me strangely like I have the plague or something)

Anyway, the ones that I loved the most were the Spirit Cabinet, Mystifying Imran's act and Kiki Tay's act. The were the ones worth watching. But despite watching Kiki Tay's other show which contained the same acts, it was still nice watching it. I liked the linking coat hangers bit.

And as BlueCowz mentioned, I also felt that what Alex T did was uncalled for and not a good call of judgment. There was a large number of kids present in the audience and he should have not said what he had said.

Besides that, I can see everyone was trying their best to put on a terrific show. Even though there were tiny hiccups here and there, I think it was still not bad.

I'll give it 3/5.
