Totally blown away by the demo video!
http://www.ellusionist.com/window-by-david-stone.html

Is this avail. in the local market yet??

This is much discussed in www.themagiccafe.com/forums, and it looks to be a winner from the reviews gathered. However, from the demo, my bad if I have missed it, I did not manage to see any 'card penetration'. However, there are lots of colour changes shown in the demo.

As for whether if this is available in the local market yet, I think you can order online straight from E website.

Its more of a card changing while it is at the opposite side of the window.

Very clever gimmick and no major setup at all. Just the gimmick and a cellophane tape is all you need.

More detailed review can be found in the Cafe.

After seeing the effect, I am like "Damn Cool, Must buy"

But I will like to stress to many people, especially newcomers to not to make hasty purchase just because the effect looks impossible.

Because you have to consider a few points before you purchase an effect.

Practical - Is it convenient to bring this effect along with you when you perform? How difficult the gimmick can be?

Usefulness - Is it useful in the context of performing it, example will be like, using a PK ring when you don't really got the chance to use it. In this case, it will be, will you be performing it with a glass panel? or like walk about magic? In the case of walk about magic, you have to preload the card before you do the effect and you need to find a glass panel.

Outs - What other things you can implement into the routine if you purchase it?

I know I might sound harsh when I say things like that, but its for the good of your growth. Alot of us end up buying things that we don't need and end up selling it, like the tarantula or other things. So I just giving a short advise that I experience during my journey.

In any case, I can see that there is potential in this effect and its clever, who could have thought of that.

Hmm, thks for the words of wisdom. Yeah, I did buy something kinda on impulse when I started which I'm looking to sell now though... a MPD from MH. Paid $25 for it...and now it's just collecting dust in my drawer after the initial excitement over it died out :(

I totally agrees with Larry. That's the mentality a lot of hobbyist have. For me, i rather wait till some of the seniors here gets it and listen to their reviews and comments. :)

Hi guys, though new but i wish to share what i felt about window. larry said was right, i guess i too buy it on impulse, a few days ago. But to my surprise, its very simple! on the dvd box it says learn in 60 seconds and setup in 30 seconds. Which is true :!!:

however the way they do it i felt could be refine, i not sure if i can say out the item use on your side, and also the gimmick behind the window can only be use once before you need to go to the back and reset it again.

its quite small to bring around, just the gimmick and a roll of tape if you want. Just that when setting up and doing the routine you wont wish that there is spectators behind the glass panel.

I got a small problem though, so i hope those seniors here with window can enlighten me on it. while doing the routine, i notice that at some scenario, you can see a small flickering of shadow when the other side of the glass is brighter then the side your performing. how should we counter the problem other then using the silk method taught on the dvd??

In any kind of situation where effects are practical to light issue, like homing card, IT work and etc. It is the magician's responsibility to do what he can do. If he cannot do it in that context or area because of lighting, especially sunlight, you should be graceful enough to not do it, and not being persistent about it.

Because you might end up exposing the effect, or doesn't look good.

If you are able to control the lights or setting for the effect, then its good time that you do some training on the effect you doing, the limits in what kind of lights, color and position that the effect can take, and if you can move your props, might as well also adjust to make the effect at its best.

Effects like Windows, and others. Just don't do it when you can't or don't feel safe. Its just not worth the effort if something went wrong.

okok :D point noted will try to practice more :D

The trink is pretty self-explainatory and can be learnt in seconds. But its not as practical as I thought it would be. You can't perform window that cannot be acessible from both sides. So that means you cant normally perform at buildings where u cant reach the other side of the window at such as offices, buses, skycrapers, etc.

There is a clean-up to the effect if you want to hand out the window card to the spectators but it shouldnt be too difficult. ^_^

The gimmick is very clever and reliable. Just take note that the effect is more like an impossible colour change than anything else. You have to place the card there in advance and from what I know, you can't combine this card with other card through window methods due to how the gimmick works.

Hi it me again recently i met with a problem recently so i came to ask again :g:

at time i may have sweaty palms which will case the M****T with the double side tape to stop sticking to my hand, i was thinking of using a plaster on my middle finger, which work for the normal one, but the heavy duty one is too obvious if i use it, so now that the gimmick is out for awhile, anyone got any suggestion for me?

Stick "it" to the bottom of your deck or have it inserted at your t-shirt label. Let your imagination go wild.
