Title: List Of Basic Shuffles To Learn?
harlequin2902 - July 16, 2009 03:00 AM (GMT)
Hi,
Is there a list of basic magician shuffles listed somewhere that beginners like me can view and use as a checklist to aid my learning? i.e name of shuffle, how it's done and how it helps the magician to achieve a particular objective. Websites perhaps?
Currently I only know two shuffles, they look like how anyone would shuffles a deck of cards but I'm not sure if there is a proper name to it. Basically these shuffles help me to keep the b***** ***d at the *****m, or the t** ***d at the **p.
thks

Pick up Royal Road To Card Magic at your nearest Kinokuniya or Borders at under $20 and have your questions answered free of charge.
Alternatively, there are DVD resources such as Daryl's Encyclopedia of Card Sleights Volume 1-8 (more specifically Volume 2 and 3) that covers different shuffling techniques and their uses.

Yes, Daryl's Encyclopedia of Card Sleights is a very good buy. I recommend that too. :)

If you have money and don't mind learning from books, I recommend the card college series by roberto giobbi.

I have two to recommend
1) Encyclopedia of Card Sleights by Daryl - 8 volume DVD, its really good enough just by learning the bulk of the 8 DVD material here.
2) Complete Card Magic by Gerry Griffin - 4 volume DVD. It teaches you tricks, sleights, flourishes and a bit of everything. What I like it they divide the material into beginner, intermediate, advance and expert sections. I feel this product is meant for a newbie, so that he or she can have a good foundation in card magic before heading to the tougher ones
Hope this helps :)
