RULES AND REGULATIONS - extracted from entry form for your perusal
♠ The minimum age eligibility for this contest is 13. You must be 13 as of the year 2009 for you to participate. Parental consent is required for any participant under the age of 16.
♠ This contest is open to ALL Singapore Magic Circle members and the magic fraternity in Singapore.
♠ ALL contestants are required to go through an audition. The audition act should be a single effect not exceeding 5 minutes. Contestants are advised to choose their strongest effect. The audition act MUST be included as part of the final act if they are selected for the Finals.
♠ The audition act may be submitted either as a parlour / close up act but not BOTH.
♠ An audition schedule will be posted by the 24 November 2009 and emailed to the contestants.
♠ All entries (regardless of whether they are selected for the finals) will be given 1 complimentary ticket.
♠ The organizers reserve the right to re-categorise the act as necessary.
♠ 10 finalists – 5 close up acts and 5 parlour acts – will be short-listed from the audition.
♠ Finalists will be informed by email. The list of finalists will also be posted on the forum.
♠ All Finalists are to prepare a complete routine no longer than 10 minutes in length. Failure to comply with the time limit will incur penalties to the score.
♠ As in all competitions, the Judges decisions are final.
STRICTLY PROHIBITED (For Auditions and Finals)
♠ No stooges – audience volunteers will be provided if you need them. Inform the organizers in advance during the finals of how many audience members you need to help you with your act. It will be arranged for you.
♠ No fire/smoke effects of any kind.

♠ There is a contest entrance fee of $20 for payments made before 20 October 2009 and $30 for payments made thereafter.
♠ Completed entry forms are to be emailed to: jeromefang@hotmail.com
♠ All payments are to be made via Bank Transfer to POSB savings account: 003-38821-2 or in CASH at any SMC gathering to a Moderator.
♠ Send a Text message upon transfer to Jerome at: 97882598 with the following information: <FULL NAME>, <NRIC>, (SMCMC)
♠ A successful entry will be confirmed via SMS and Email.
♠ All entries must be submitted by 15 November 2009
♠ All payment must be made by 15 November 2009
♠ Late, incomplete or unpaid entries will be disqualified.

2. Technique (difficulty & handling) : 15
3. Routining : 15
4. Penalties (based on judges)
5. Magic Atmosphere : 5
6. Presentation (Laymen judges only) : 10

Time Limit
Auditions -> 5 min act (penalty imposed for over time at Judges' discretion)
The decision of the judges and organisers are final. Singapore Magic Circle reserves the right to bar/disqualify any act it deems inappropriate or unsuitable.
