Title: Magic Shops And Bar In Japan

hikaru - September 7, 2009 04:42 AM (GMT)
Hi all,

I will be going to Japan in December. Does anyone know of any Magic Shop over there in Tokyo and Osaka? I know that Tokyu Hands and Toys 'R Us carry some stuff too.

Japan has a very strong magic subculture and I have also heard of many Magic Bars in Japan. Anyone has been there, and can recommend a few? Magic Shows too.

Cheers,
hikaru

Try Magicland, Ton Onosaka's shop. http://www.nuuanu.k12.hi.us/nuuanuweb/asia.../magicland.html Not easy to locate the shop though.

When in Tokyo, make sure to go Tokyu hands as they have a wide range of Tenyo stuffs. Some Tenyo counters sells items made for magicians. These are slightly more expensive, not made of plastic and most of them are sold in Japan only.

Be prepare the spend a lot of money in Tokyo, its a very expensive city.

Thanks alot.

Have you been to Magicland? From the website, it looks very professional. Don't know if they will entertain a hobbyist like me? :P

I have been to Tokyu Hands before, will be there to search for more stuff this time round.

cheers,
hikaru

Yeah, been there. Pretty messy place. They use the shop to make their products. Mamasan is pretty friendly. Stuffs are not cheap though. I bought their coin purse.
