What is Legedemain 2010?
Legerdemain 2010 is a LIVE magic competition organised by the
International Brotherhood of Magicians (Ring 115)
Ulu Pandan Community Club (in conjunction with the People's Association)
Singapore Magic Circle
There will be two categories - PARLOUR and CLOSEUP.

When are the auditions for Legedemain 2010 and where will they be held?
The auditions are held during 2009. There are two dates: 28 November 09 and 12 December 09. Having two dates allows us to cater to a wider range of schedules.
The auditions are held in the BOMB SHELTER @ Ulu Pandan Community Club. Past participants of this event would attest to the unique feel of the audition venue. It's truly an experience in and of itself!

Why are the auditions so early?
This allows the participants to prepare a routine of sufficient quality that would give them every opportunity to shine. The finalists will also have almost half a year to come up with and rehearse their act - this guarantees a competition that will be - in every way - the best it could be!

What are the prizes for Legerdemain 2010?
At the moment, we are still in the stages of finalising the prizes, these will be revealed within the week!

Though we believe that any finalists would already have benefitted greatly - in terms of their magic as well as their reputation: past winners have done pretty well! - it is also important that an adequate incentive be there for competitors to lock their sights onto. Rest assured: the prizes will be highly attractive! So stay tuned!

What is the venue at the finals like?
Check out the photos for the Theatrette where the finals will be held - it's as professional as it gets! This will be an experience that you will remember forever!

PRIZES FOR LEGERDEMAIN 2010

Each category (Parlour and Closeup) will have a Champion, a 1st runner-up and a 2nd-runner up.

PARLOUR

Champion: $500 worth of prizes (including 1 year IBM membership)
1st runner-up: $300 worth of prizes (including 1 year IBM membership)
2nd runner-up: $100 worth of prizes


CLOSEUP

Champion: $500 worth of prizes (including 1 year IBM membership)
1st runner-up: $300 worth of prizes (including 1 year IBM membership)
2nd runner-up: $100 worth of prizes


We have increased the value of the prizes this time round as compared to LEGERDEMAIN 2007, so what are you waiting for? Close to $2000 worth of prizes in total waiting to be won!
Remember, the Early-bird registration closes at the end of this month, so hurry up and send in your registrations and give your best shot at fame and fortune!

EXTENSION OF EARLY-BIRD REGISTRATION PERIOD FOR STUDENTS*

To encourage greater participation from promising young magicians, we will be extending the Early-bird Registration period for all secondary, JC and Polytechnic students.

*All secondary, JC and Polytechnic students will enjoy the Early-bird Registration rate of $20 throughout the entire registration period until the final closing date of 15 November 2009.

Hi all,

Thank you to all those that have signed up and paid for the entry fee. Thank you for your enthusiam and effort.

For all those who are still considering, this is the final call.

Although the early special was supposed to end on 20th Oct, but since we are having a gathering this saturday, we are going to let anyone who brings their entry forms and money to enjoy the early bird special. This saturday will be the very last day for the early bird special, and the closing date of signing up with be on 15 Nov.

So all those who are still thinking about it, don't think anymore already. Act upon it. The prizes are bloody attractive, and the competition this year is going to be very exciting. We have contestants from all over the place, so it really is an experience not to be missed, to share the stage with all the other great magicians.
