Description: Just a discussion

Am in no way saying whether this is right or wrong.

Apparently this is footage from a China TV programme. I could be wrong.

Although its common for teachings to be on dvd, having it on public television seems to be a little inappropriate.

The sleight taught includes Jumbo handwashing sequence. It isn't an easy sleight. And its not like some french drop magic trick that most people have no problem figuring out. (Then again, the moves are unnatural to start with).

My point being, is it alright to be exposing magic. Even though you probably know that others won't accomplish the same because its a difficult sleight? Won't it be better if you kept it a secret, especially so when its a difficult sleight? Less exposure more enjoyment maybe?

A kind member just told me that it is probably from a DVD.

Having said that, I've seen a couple of tricks exposed on TV still. Probably not by Lu Chen, but other magicians.

I'm pretty sure this is a footage cut out from a tutorial DVD.

It is definitely not alright to expose magic but this is something we cannot stop just like DVD/VCD piracy. We can only do our part by not exposing.

Even though this is a discussion for magicians, lets not forget that other publics and laymen can see the link too.
