Hello, and welcome. Great to have more female magicians here.
Maybe you will want to introduce yourself using the guidelines here?
http://forums.singaporemagiccircle.com/ind...?showtopic=1071Regarding your question, I believe it will not be a problem with enough practice.
Max Malini's hands were tiny, but he became one of the best close-up workers in the world.
You could use bridge cards, but there are limitations. If you do borrow a deck from any people to perform they'll probably be poker decks, and also many gaffs are made in poker-size.

Get books. They are your best friends for knowledge.
Search around the forum.. We have already made plenty of recommendations to people.

The answer is yes. If you are seriously interested in magic, I would suggest you go for the upcoming meeting at the end of the month to meet other hobbyists. I'm sure they'll be happily willing to guide you along.

depends on your area of interest...

Personally, I have small hands too, but that shouldnt intimidate you. In fact, that should fuel you to find alternatives and develop technique truly belonging to you

I think the key is misdirection. Use your girl power to spice up your magic. Take a look at Rene Lavand (the one hand magician); he definitely inspired me to be the next De'Vo and Dai Vernon haha.
Turn your disadvantage into your advantage. All the best!

Oops, I know why it's peculiar now.
Have a typo, "he definitely inspired you to".
Sorry ZiAn.

I think ZiAn meant why would Rene Lavand inspire anyone to be Devo (manipulator) and Dai Vernon (sleight of hand and magic master).
Perhaps you mean, it's his spirit and achievement that people should strive for?

Of course!
Anybody can do card tricks even if their hands are small! I'm 11 and before I got banned from card magic, i
could impress people with sleights, tricks , and flourishes.
All you need to do is practice. Thats all!

Hi there,
Though I am a guy, I have small hands too. Sleights like P*ss and P**ming has always been challenging to me. But there are also lots of other sleights that can be done with small hands. Like Alvinterence said, Misdirection is the key. Don't give up and enjoy cards!!

Hello, I am a guy and have small hands too. I'm a beginner too and it kinda gets me down since I really like card magic. I can't even hold a deck of cards in the mechanics grip correctly.
I won't give up though! Hope I can get insights from the more experienced here!

There are a lot of card tricks. If your hand are small, you can always perform those that don't require you to hide the card :)

Well i guess practice make perfect, read up more on the details and such, research more. But don't pour your whole 24h a day into magic, as most of us are still students, studies are still important. Repeating a module or a year due to negligence is not easy, so do learn to give and take :D
*Unless your a person who don't study for 364days a year and still can score 80plus then you can forget these few line.*
Small hands or big hands, there are always ways to do card tricks, just need more time to plan a more detail routine. So to those out there who is about to give up, i guess i should say "keep going, there is always someways around for you to do it". :g:
