I was trying to do Voodoo Ash or something like that earlier or should i say yesterday. So I was happily seeing that card buring away, then to act ''smart'' or whatever, i just tried to rub it on my arm. DANG! It was so hot and was hurting me like sh*t. So i blew off that damned card and washed everything...

I guess I'm not a pyro material.

Any advice on these kinds of pryo effects with ashes etc?

-- Having a rather unsightly burnt mark <_< . ARGH disfigured...

I have a very good advice for you:
wait for the ash to cool before rubbing it on yourself. :blink: :lol: B)

Alittle advice just becareful its hot lol... :D Just take some caution on pryo stuff and you should be fine lol... :D

Hmm.. Who did you learn it from man ~ that person should have told you to wait for it to cool down first. Hahahaha

Next time use your lighter base to hit the paper, and normally we burn paper cause faster and you can use your lighter base to hit the paper to actually get smash up the ashes.

haha... u know wat? i experienced the same thing as u Ling. Ill share with u all my experience. i did this at a friends birthday party. I normally and always do magic in parties, and people/friends birthdays... and somehow like 8 months ago i decided to do something more than just slieght of hands card magic. so i tot of doing the voodoo ash thingy. so i prepared myself for it lol....

so at the party, i did it.... told the gal to write the card on a price of paper and fold it. then i took and burnt it with a lighter.... and it went on fire...

then i tot to myslef.... (sh*t... wat m suppose to do now? its on fire man!!!).... so.... then for a moment i tot of blaine.... he did it FEARLESSLY....

so... i tried to be macho...fold me sleeves up and while the paper was stilll on fire burning like mad, i rubbed it on my lower arm!!! man.... its was OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! i was like going ouch ouch ouch!!! (not acting) and everyone was like shit wat u doing man... they also ouch! lol...

the funny thing is there was not enough ash.... and i was like there there.. cant u see it.... ur card ur card!!! it can be seen but v faint... lol.... even though some of them got mystified or enjoyed themselves i think they were more worried abt my arm lol.... i had to live with a scar a week. it was painful. my skin peeled after a week. lol....

so. ive learn my lesson. im thinking of doing this again soon... but i wont be so "stupid" again. i still wonder how can blaine do it when the fire is still like burning. perhaps he also felt the pain.. but TAHAN!!!! hahha lol....

I perform the voodoo Ash thingy a couple of times... Here is how i perform it..

When the paper is burning, don't talk, look straight at the burning paper.... Everyone will then think that u r trying to peep for the words written in the pc of paper..... After e pc of paper is fully burned, do this...

1) Ask everyone if they can see the words when the paper is burning... (Buy time for ashes to cool..) Joke that u were trying to peep but can't see!

2) Ask everyone if they can see the words AFTER the paper burned... (Place lighter into Ash Tray, etc, Smash all the ashes up pretending that you were trying to look for words)

3) Then explained to them that thru the help of the DEVIL you will try to find the words written in the pc of paper...

4) By this time, the ashes shld be fully cooled...

5) Do your thing!!!

I'd just like to add that this patter is PERFECT for when you perform in church for your pastor and the elderly.

id rather omit the devil part in all of my performance of this effect.

i present it as a psychic effect, not a satanic one...

Safety first my dear girl... don't worry your scars will heal, can show you mine if you show me yours... lol... the skin may be a shade darker than it originally was, bet heck, treat them as a reminder for yourself next time.

Well, thats how i perform it... I always do my effect comically, so when i say devil, i always get a few laughs! Sorry if I offended anyone, K? ;)

If you wanna perform a effect for ur church pple, i think u shd omit this trick totally, cause IMHO, i feel that the effect itself is already evil enuf thus e name voodoo Ash, even if you choose not to include the devil part! :)

I did this thing too... I blew out the flames on the card, and while the peper was still red with heat, I swiped it on my hand real fast. This resulted in a BEAUTIFUL SPLASH of GLOWING red stuff. There was only one place that really felt hot, but I continued the effect, bearing the pain.
