Title: Magic Moment
Description: how to create the "MOMENT"

Hi!

I was just wondering how to create the amazing magic moment with big impact? Sometimes people get

distracted when i show them a nice routine and somehow they miss the magic moment. How do you get

them to focus on you without any distractions and to create the magic moment?

Thanks

Keep it simple. Do not come up with some elaborate patter that only serves to confuse them and dilute your magic.

Also once the dirty work is done, don't feel the need to immediately show the effect. This is the point where showmanship comes into play. Do it slow, put some mystery and anticipation in it. Then when the moment comes the impact will be multiplied.

Read some books on the subject:

1. Strong Magic- Darwin Ortiz
2. Magic and Showmanship- Henning Nelms

These are the only 2 I have read personally and I think the ideas inside are great.

And experience helps too... so perform more often.

Use a simple patter. Go slow with your words, make it loud and audio-able. Get them to think along with you and surprise them.

Layman are expecting the norm. If you do something out of the norm, it's magic. When you entertain them with the magic element, it's a strong reaction.

And yes, I strongly agree with muscleaxl that frequent performances does give you the experience with the what-not reactions from the audiences.

Have fun performing!
