Effect:
Performer shows a 1/2 dollar and plainly let spec sign on 1 side. The performer then openly turn the coin over and sign on the other side. The coin can be plainly shown to be signed on both sides in mag's otherwise openly empty hands. The coin is place on the table in plain view and mag takes out wallet, keys, and other knick knacks and asking the spec to hold/put in a bag held by spec. The performer then pick up the signed coin plainly on the table and suddenly vanishes it. *Climax pause* and the SIGNED coin is found attached to the bunch of keys in an impossibly locked position, IN THE SPEC's hands/bag. The mag never went near the hands or the bag again. The coin can be taken out of the keychain by the spec and everything is inspectable.
Comments:
I got this at Magic Castle, paying $80 for this, althou i can't say i regret getting it. The gimmick is well made and i expect it to last a long time. I think the "time lapse" factor is very strong, that the signed coin is found in the spec's hands immediately after it is vanished. I think a time travel plot would go well with this. There is some handling invloved but it's not too difficult nor too angle sensitive, but knowing some good coin sleights would help enhance it for sure.
I haven't performed it before because i wanna be super sure of my handling 1st. But i expect the shock factor to be pretty high and the 1st thing the spec would wanna do is inspect the coin and the keychain it is attached to, both of which is examinable.
If you wanna get it, magic.org has it for USD$24.75.
I give it 9/10.
-1/2 one for possiblity of unruly spec ruining the trick, and -1/2 for weak presentation suggestion provided with the trick but it's not difficult to think up a few presentation with an effect like that.
Suitable for the beginner-intermediate magic. But should know some coin basics.
Still sounds like a good trick Morphine ;-) would love to see you perform that sometime *grin*
Selling my "The Mark" for $50. Anyone?
must it be u US coin or can any coin be used?
