Title: Have You Failed A Trick Before?

IMO, coin magic requires quite a bit of commitment and discipline. Many at times, it probably takes more effort and misdirection to pull off a simple coin trick than a simple card tricks.
Throughout my whole journey performing coin magic, I've made quite a bit of mistakes and I'm still desperately trying to get better. I've failed coin tricks miserably a couple of times and I hate the feeling when my audience feels ahead of me.
I'm quite a serious coin worker, and I have my fair share of training and practice.
What about you. Have you ever failed a coin trick? How was the experience like? Watching David Stone these days makes me feel as though he can get away with any tricks because of his misdirection and showmanship. So i thought i'd look for fellow magicians who have had experience with failure.

Whats IMO?
Nobody enjoy failing a trick. But i guess it's part of being a successful magician

In my opinion.
Do you do coin tricks? Have you failed a coin trick?

I practise more on cards. and starting on coins. I definitely failed coin tricks. but not infront of unforgiving audience as i know i'm still practising.
For me, i take experience from how what i failed to do properly

Hi!
Yeah. I failed a couple of coin tricks and my friends caught me either doing a switch fake take or other
sleights. Then they say with a know-it-all voice pointing to the secret movement and say "Its over there!/You
cannot fool me." But now after practicing hard, I'm able to amaze them even with thumb clip vanish
Thanks

I start off my magic as coin freak. I love coin magic as the impact is really great.
I do fail my coin magic for quite a number of occassion but mainly due to sweaty palm. I have overcome this problem already.... i cut of my hands.... joke...
i bought the hand cleaning solution that will give the slight stickiness to my palm and it helps. But there is also a problem. With the Hand Cleaner, it is very difficult to do things like Coin Hand Wash.....
But as for coin magic... i feel that sleight might be important but the most important of all is the misdirection. Coin is very different from cards... cards have more cover but for coins.. the only cover is ur hands and you really need to have good misdirection. Sometime with misdirection, even you fail your coin you are still able to fool the audience.....

Coins can be particularly difficult because u don't have 51 other places to hide them.
I reduce my chances of failure by performing only for those who want to see my magic most of the time. These people will be less cynical and disruptive.
Of course, i have some routines that are rather hard to follow (the methods) that i am comfortable showing people who i know will be out to catch me. For example, if a girl saw your magic and asks you to show it to her guy friend, you know there is a high chance that that guy will be out to catch you. Then, only show him your (almost) fool proof stuff. If that is not possible, it might be better to politely decline.
I find that identifying the kinds of audience and acting accordingly helps.
