hi! i'm new to both this forum and magic. i saw a performance recently in my sch canteen and my interest for magic was kinda revived. always had an interest since young got alot of those fantasma plastic stuff which dun work very well. i find this disappearing deck quite intriguiing and would like to start off with this. any comments? and anyone selling this?

Hey!!! Hm... which Fantasma product did you get?

FYI: The Vanishing/Disappearing Deck which you probaly saw on the demo video is called the Paranormal Deck... Its comes in the "Ultimate Card Set" which also comes with other 2 interesting deck called the "Phantom" and my personal favuorite, the "Pyschic" deck.

Drop by to the Forum or United Square branch "Toy R Us" this coming weekend, you'll be able to see some Fantasma demostrating some of the products.

Also, you will want to visit our local library or bookshop for books on magic, find the book "Magic for Dummies". I like this book alot as it educate you with a little history on magic. The trick in it are easy to learn too... ;)

Do post a little intro on yourself in the intro section of the forum too.

oh. i got the pen thru bill and the genie bottle thingie. actually i dun think its the paranormal deck i'm talking about. i'm actually referring to the joker magic version. where there's this black cardboard sleeve to hold the entire deck. and after a moment, the entire deck vanishes from the sleeve.

i'm not that 'pleased' (in that sense) with fantasma 'toys' as the audience can tell it the moment they see it. even my youngest brother noes how it's done after watching the demo.

It all goes down to how you present the effect...

I perform lots of Fantasma stuff without any problem... the Alladin Hanky which you have is one of my favourite effect...

Do join us in our coming outing and you'll be able to get some tips from many experianced magicians on how to present your effect well... ;)

Well, the vanishing deck is a pretty much self working trick. Not bad if you are a beginner, i quite like the secret. But i wouldn't go wild about it, it's not exactly a full routine item :)
I'm not sure if Fantasma carries this product but you can easily find bicycle stock of this product from any of the dealers in the forum :)

I kinda agree with you about the recognisability of fantasma products but I dun think it's necessarily true for everything. The card items, I think, if any of your spec has ever seen a fantasma deck before, they will immediately recognise the back design as a trick deck. They may or may not know how the trick deck operates, but they just will dismiss it. Maybe Fantasma should try to make normal playing cards and mass market them as well :) that might help throwing some of the heat off. B)
But for their other items with not so recognisable branding (no obvious brand name) like pen thru bill or ring escape or whatever else, they could still be usable. Provided the spec, or their cousin/niece/children/etc, didn't actually bought that item before. Or combine it subtly with other stronger effects as presentation bonuses :)

And yes, please give us a short intro in the Intros and Hellos section?

haha! i alr posted an intro of myself le. yea thnx...i already bought the vanishing deck from mc today at $16. haha...impatient me! but i'm still eyeing the hummer card and the mental deck where u change the cards from blank to coloured and stuff...yea. thanks for the replies.

ps. haha the vanishing deck is quite cute and my sis almost freaked out wen she saw it...but its quite a cheap thrill i have to say now that i've got it.
