Title: Muscle Pass

klvnzz - January 13, 2010 06:37 PM (GMT)
Anybody knowa what is the most effective / productive way to practice the muscle pass? That is apart from watching the DVDs ...

Work on your muscles first. palm a coin every where you go for the whole day. do it for a few days. Rest a day or two, and you should see results

LoyaLover - January 14, 2010 03:51 AM (GMT)
I believe that there are more than 2 threads up about the subject. You should do a search if you are sincere about learning it. Because I think some tips were mentioned that would be very helpful.

Alot of people talks about having a good CP first. Personally I feel that it also depends alot on your hands. Not everyone can do a MP. Otherwise you'd see everyone doing it already.

Because not everybody wants to put in the effort to do well and you will lose it if you didn't keep up with practise.

Congratulations... ^_^

mudbuddha - February 1, 2010 06:17 AM (GMT)
Congratz...what height / distance are you getting your MP?

klvnzz - February 9, 2010 06:23 PM (GMT)
WOAH.....!!!!!

I finally can do a verticle muscle pass. Took me about 3 weeks and 8 hrs practice daily. Current verticle is only 7 cm. Not high, but I'm happy just the same! :g:

But my palm feels extremely soar and "burning". :(

Thx for the advises.

muscleaxl - February 10, 2010 06:04 AM (GMT)
Hmm... I am always amazed by how you all know the height of your MP. So how did you measure?

How to estimate a height of 7cm? I certainly can't...

Ace - February 10, 2010 11:19 AM (GMT)
You can try by having your hand on the table. Place a ruler vertically on the table. Do your muscle pass and see how high it goes. If you see it goes 7cm, you can make sure that it is accurate by putting a book or pad 7cm above your palm. If your coin can hit or touch the book you can be sure that you can muscle pass that height.

klvnzz - February 10, 2010 06:35 PM (GMT)
i construct my own measuring gauge. Material needed, the toilet roll cardboard. I measure the height of the roll (in this case, 7cm) place a piece of cardboard the size of 1/2 A4 paper. then I MP the coin up to hit the cardboard. My aim is to tople cardboard sheet. If the sheet toples, tt would be my approx height of MP.

Just my way of training and gauging. May sound stupid. But its effective for me. lol

blue_mode_1 - February 12, 2010 08:35 AM (GMT)

That is so cool!

Although i wonder why we build so many contraptions just to measure a MP...

klvnzz - February 12, 2010 05:39 PM (GMT)
Haha. Maybe its just our way to gauge our height and distance. THe more powerful the pass, the more feats you can perform.

Anyway, magic is about entertaining your audience lol.

Happy new year! :D

muscleaxl - February 13, 2010 11:30 AM (GMT)
Actually I do agree with blue_mode that it is a lot of trouble to go through just to measure the height.

I mean, how many people would say, " Wow!! You can actually make it go up SEVEN CENTIMETRES!!"

Melinda_Chong - July 21, 2010 03:45 PM (GMT)
Wow! I really hope to be able to master the muscle pass! I would say that my Classic "P" is not bad, however, the muscle pass is a whole new level of difficulty! :o

It's a little more harder for me as I'm a girl and also, I can only do a mediocre classic "P", but I will perserve and push myself to master the muscle pass within 3 months!

Wish me luck! :!!:

yea, good luck! perserverance is kind of the spirit of magic! Keep trying! =)
I am working on it too!

voodoolong - August 10, 2010 04:06 PM (GMT)
muscle pass i learn for many year ..2 year...lol....

myhobbyismagic - October 11, 2010 05:38 PM (GMT)
My hand is hurting after practicing for like about 20 mins of it. Anyone got way to train your plam muscle up first, so it is easy to do Muscle Pass.

clementt - October 11, 2010 11:25 PM (GMT)
I didn't really focus on practising the muscle pass daily. But once I got the correct techniques and position down, I just randomly fiddled with the move at random periods of the day. And over time I saw results for horizontal muscle pass. Still waiting for the vertical to materialise LOL.

Hello guys,

I started practising on the muscle pass in Jan 2011, and can do a MP for a short height, say abt one short ruler?

Thing is my MP is still quite inconsistent, sometimes it can go higher, sometimes, my MP becomes a fluke. Like a 50-50 thing..hahahahah.. More practise i guess..

I started off with some guidance from a fellow magician and it was only after his tips that I had some progress. Before that, I was really exasperated. My coin refused to budge!

I think DVDs are not really necessary, but practise (the correct steps) are more important. I bought some dvds, and kinda regret and they are all saying the same things. No shortcuts, just practise.

I was told to get a really consistent MP, a person probably need 6 months of constant practising. :)

wkc - June 9, 2011 03:57 PM (GMT)
my muscle pass i train for about 6 months.. It would be easier if you can train your palm muscle first by holding the coin in your palm all the time. hopes that help. :)

Justice - June 23, 2011 05:01 PM (GMT)
haha wkc, you are right about that. The more pain you feel in that area, you will get more progress in time to come

After 6 mths, I am confident about it. i guess if that "muscle" is strong enough, the MP is a piece of cake :)

wkc - June 24, 2011 12:56 AM (GMT)
Also, you can use a green bean or small size object to train too. :)

Muscle Pass a green bean?? Wow...

wkc - June 24, 2011 04:20 PM (GMT)
i mean practice holding it with a green bean first.. haha..

Justice - June 24, 2011 06:32 PM (GMT)
after the bean training..crack peanuts eh? :P

But anyway, that part of the muscle is really important, the soreness of that part is heavenly when you can do a decent MP. For those who are trying, dun give up! Practise 30mins to 1 hr a day, and you will see results in 1-2 weeks! results meaning the coin will "pop" out from your palm..:)
