Description: More guests...more magic?

Hi!
I was wondering if doing magic during chinese new year is umm... good?
Plus, anyone give suggestions on what to buy using the hong bao money?
Thanks.

Hmm... yes... you can use them for blackjack or mahjong. And if you know how to do the right kind of "magic" with cards like some of us here... you can greatly multiply your HB money. :P

What a "good" suggestion you had there Axl! Haha! But anyway, yes, Chinese New Year is definitely a good chance for you to perform especially when you and all your relatives gather at one house, you will have whole lots of audiences to practice with!
As for the second question, you may want to narrow down your question on what kind of effects do you prefer so that its easier to recommend as well.

Do magic while preparing the new year goodies, or things related. I don't know if a RV on a pineapple tart will scare people, but it is really a chance to mix magic into real life, and not just go: "I have a trick" and take out your cards. :D

Probably coin tricks as i use coins more often after learning MP and Coin Roll.
Plus, i don't go around carrying cards.=p
Oh! And i have NO IDEA AND DO NOT WANT TO GAMBLE!
=)

Pardon me but what tricks can you do with coin roll?

I don't think it's a good idea to use sleights in CNY gambling...that's cheating.
Gambling demonstrations are fine though, fits the theme quite well.

I just do Coin Roll and all my friends will stare and say stuff like 'whoah... how did you...' and i think that with that i can go into coin magic.
Oh! and remember that i'm 11 so i don't gamble...

Oh my... I suddenly feel like an evil uncle advocating the young to gamble.
You mean nowdays the kids don't gamble anymore!!? I thought this is THE time of the year to squander some HB money or make some extra. At least I do that when I was 11 (with parental consent FYI)... wonder what you all do now.
Yes, cheating your own friends and relatives is bad. Just make sure you don't know them well before you cheat... :P
Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year!!

During CNY, i was getting pestered to to gamble which is something i never liked..(that's why i forgot to buy the TOTO -.-").
To get myself out of the pestering situation, i did a Daniel Garcia's .44 effect and end with a simple ACR routine. Explaining because i can magically control cards to my favour, that's why i didn't want to gamble.
After the effect, my relatives went " Wah! You've got fast hands! lucky you didn't want to gamble, good on you."

Remember when i came into the forum and my mum did not allow me to gamble. Yeah... its like that.
And i don't feel so comfortable talking about gambling.
No harsh feelings.

Good idea. Can use that method to shoo away people who pester me to gamble.
