Title: How Do You Deal With Bad Audience?
ervz - February 28, 2010 01:34 PM (GMT)
What do you do if:
- An audience accurately say your trick out loud when you accidentally revealed it due to your own improfessionalism, like they say "I saw you lifted 2 cards"
- An audience try to touch your things, like open up closed card etc.
- An audience make a request that you can't do it, like request for card checking or to shuffle the card
- An audience that seem uninterested to what you are doing half way through your performance
How do you all deal with all this scenerio?

i think the answer that would come out would be either:
- Its magician's responsibility to ensure none or at least some of the examples you state from happening.
or
-Choose your audiences, see some smart alecks or i call them anti-magic toxic people, don't perform. my opinion:you could try self working trick that isnt obvious, or magic that is so visual that leave people so shock that they don't bother to find the explaination[ very hard though  ]

In the event where the effect is already exposed and there is no way to cover the mistake, try not to make a big fuss over it, (even laugh with the audience if possible) and just move on to the next effect.

Hmm... IMO:
1. If it is not THAT obvious, use a KM move, show single card and move on to your other phases (if there is). If not, KM and end there, saying, "since you a doubt me, then I would another one instead." And hopefully, one that does not involve any kind of L.
If it is VERY obvious. follow joel's advice and practice very very hard when you go back.
2. Your last 3 questions all involved audience management. I suggest you read Strong Magic.

I just had this experience with an audience while I was doing multiplying balls, and after i put the balls back into the box than this spectator came up when one of the spectators was distracting, opened the box and found out how it was done, i didnt know how to react after that so i just moved on, ignored them, any suggested reactions?

I don't really get what you are trying to say.
Did you mean that a spectator was "misdirecting" you, while another went to your box, opened it and found out your secret?
