Title: Hi Hi Hi!!!

wickedpuppy - April 7, 2010 07:56 AM (GMT)
Well , I have posted before but didn't intro myself so here it is.

I am a poly diploma , IT from NP , cert holder currently doing part-time accounting and finance degree in SIM from UOL and trying to start a business for myself with my parents money.

I love reading , watching football ( die-hard LFC fan ) , and using Linux ( especially Ubuntu ). I am also TKD blue belt holder. I used to play computer games a lot but slowing down due to my eyesight getting bad to worse. I also used to play magic the gathering cards and still got a few very rare cards like force of will and revised edition of serra angel.

I have also traded stocks on the SGX and DJ markets , made a few bucks in citibank last year and then lost some , and also in Forex market usually Euro/USD pair. Didn't touch Futures/Options but plan to do so when I got time and money. Attended two courses in TerraSeeds for practical technical analysis and MACD ( Moving Average Convergence Divergence ).

I am also trying to learn some basic magic tricks and will definitely be coming down for subsequent meetings unless there is nobody at the shop. Still struggling with some basic shuffling techniques :P

Currently , I am about to take over a game shop in Tampines and thinking of adding magic equipment/props/books/DVDs to the product line along with some other stuff.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day.

Welcome, my advice to you on futures and options, don't touch it if you don't understand it. The risk is very high.

Indeed , futures and CFDs have made a lot of retired people picking cans and cupboards in Singapore. Too many to count actually. I be playing with sure-loss money don't worry. Same for my stocks as well.

I told my dad FNM and Citi are big shots so US govt will definitely come in for help and managed to get 3k. Bought FNM at 47c and sold at 82c for 3 lots. For Citi , bought at 3.50 and sold at 4.25 , it was really fluctuating a lot so couldn't get the lowest and highest points. From both I made about 4k.

Then comes the currencies and lost about 2k. LOL :P

Wow wow... this is a bit getting over my head. Haha...

Anyway hi.

I think you wrote the most extensive intro I've ever read, even telling us of your future business plans.

But too bad... you are a Liverpool fan. Wrong choice of football club. :P

Currencies and futures have the same risks. if you want to dabble in such contracts, its best to do it full time. You need to monitor them.

Yes , I was a full-time trader when I was trading. SIM doesn't have full-day classes like local Unis. Its basically 4 classes 3 hours each a week for full-time. CCAs are not required. So I was free 2/3 days a week literally in front of my monitor the whole day. From SGX opening time in the morning to NYSE/DJ opening time at night , I was glued to the screen. And I also attended professional trading courses.

My degree was also accounting and finance meaning I taken Corporate Finance and Financial accounting modules. I was familiar with basically all of the terms such as irr and black-scholes.

Anyway , I think we sort of side tracked from magic and my intro. I do agree all trading carries risks and I was personally prepared for it , as I said the money was a sure-loss money , meaning I was prepared to lose all of it. I am not trying to say trading is a easy and quick way to make money. It so happened my risk appetite is very high , since I am also doing business.

Although I can't help but saying that currencies and futures don't technically carries same risks since risk which can be derived via CAPM or APT and be avoided via stop-loss method or hedging , by Futures or Options. Basically they are for hedging not for trading but then who cares :P But yes they do carries same risks since they are both risky products.

Hi!!!!

As for LFC , well I got no comments since there are plenty at TIA or other forums. But yes they aren't playing pretty currently. Either the manager or the owners , one of them will be leaving I suppose.

Wow! Tampines!! Hope you will open soon since I am staying around that area. =D And seriously, east is short of magic shops. Even the nearest one at Kovan which i know of has already disappeared. =/

The shop is already opened now. Just that currently its a video games shop selling video games and gaming accessories. I plan to devote part of the shop to magic and another to something else , perhaps clothing.

Since it already has a ready-made customers for video games , I am not rushing into magic. I will take it slowly and see how it goes. I am also not forced to make money from magic alone so I be more interested in building my reputation as a reliable vendor than making easy bucks selling burned dvds.

I suppose before I order from overseas , I can stock up on local magicians. If you know any that has DVDs , pls pm me and I can just put them in the shop display. It can be either on commission basis or display rental , either one.

As I said , the shop also has some space I plan to put a table and some chairs so maybe , maybe can have a magic class. Then I can let people come here for magic class with commission basis. There are possibilities for how both local magic circle and I can obtain mutual benefit.

Hope we both have a great and long lasting relationship.
