Hi I will be having a performance in school very soon and have a limit of 1 minute, please help me with my decision on what trick to do and comments are welcome thanks!

I think this is very subjective. It will depend on your skill level. What are the things that you can do best? Invisible deck on stage would not be suitable due to visibility. Besides, it will be a rush job dor a 1 minute act.

Do something that is more visible and something that you are more comfortable in.

jleexd;

I just felt that a 1 minute act too rush and you need the mood...

There are few magic you can try;

i) Cloth changing;
ii) Tissue Rose to Real rose;
iii) HP into balloon;
iv) Floating Table;
v) Silks to wands;
vi) Silk into balloon and
Etc...

Wow, That's such a restriction on time.

Maybe try searching for tricks that are perform various magician on stage? =)

I do think that it depends on the audience size. If you could get your act filmed and up on the monitor, I guess invisible deck works just fine.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure that there are Jumbo invisible decks for sale as well.

Joshua Jay has a presentation for the invisible deck used on stage. Its on his "Complete course of magic" I think.

It should work well!

Torn & Restored Newspaper

Easy to understand, and can see clearly from distance ^^

Maybe try the dancing cane

One minute should be enough

I agree with M.A.D. Those tricks have a lot of good values in them like:

-Easy to undersand
-Easy to see
-Very visual
-Very shocking

Just my advice. But why just 1 minute? Is this a school talent show or something?

Kazekage - May 29, 2010 11:18 AM (GMT)
How big is the audience?

Just be sure that those at the back of the stage will be able to see the effects clearly.
Minimize speech to make full use of the minute.

Why not just perform a card manipulation routine?

Its a school event but there is a camera which will be projected onto a screen so everyone can see, so size should not matter.

I see a lot of you have chosen invisible deck, but I tried it, and it takes over one minute, but I am still trying.

Maybe Gaff tricks or Svengali Deck?

At least you can continue doing the tricks without wasting time for spectators to think.

If it's one minute, don't involve any participation from audience. Make it a show and tell kind of thing. If you are good with your manipulation. Why not do that?! That would be nice!

Keep hitting the audience with effects after effects!

It's not a manipulation act, but well... just watch it!
1min 23secs!

That's why actually I am learning CD manipulation now, getting quite good at it, thought I could do it, because I'm more of a manipulation person.
