Hi people, I am new to this forum and since this is the first review I am doing, I might review it the same way as other forumites here doing deck reviews.

Alright, on first look, this deck is a wonder. Mainly because of the fact that when Theory 11 first released this deck, the first batch was sold out in 15minutes! And buyers including wholesalers had to wait for the second batch.

This deck like alwats, is designed by Si Scott but this time, is printed in Metallic Green ink for the first time in the history of Smoke and Mirrors. Also for the first time, Smoke and Mirrors are one.

On the front of the deck box, there are some curly, intricate drawings and on closer look, they actually spell the words Playing Cards. A little nice subtlety that has been present in the Smoke and Mirrors series for awhile.

On the back, it features a shimmering green and a simple but elegant back design, very different from the others in this series.

Even the seal has another intricate design printed on it and it comes in metallic green too.

Before I go to the insides of the deck, here's a tidbit for those reading. The Smoke and Mirrors V4 is crafted from recycled paper. Eco-Friendly eh?

After tearing the seal and removing the cards, I was amazed at how the cards felt. It was difficult to imagine that these cards were made from recycled paper as they felt just like any other cards.

Personally, I thought that these cards will not handle well as only effort was put in to the design and marketing of these cards. For this, thumbs up to Dan and Dave.

This deck retained its design and logo of the elegant Ace of Spades and its Jokers, featuring a magician standing mirror-imaged to each other. However, the Court cards are coloured differently. They are printed in Metallic green in place of the Yellow depicted in previous versions of Smoke and Mirrors.

The deck comes with a double backer for you guys to come up with your own routine in magic.

In conclusion, the Smoke and Mirrors Version 4 is a great deck and I feel that both Card Florishers and Magicians should purchase them for use! It would be a waste if you refuse to open it, keeping it like a white elephant at home in your deposit box.

Due to the design of these cards, Card Florishers are especially encouraged to use them for florishing or especially for your cardistry videos.

With this, I thank you for reading this and pardon me for anything I have said/did wrongly and I hoped that this was a constructive review.

Thank You! :D

These decks are not as good as the V1s and the V2s in my opinion. These will still be very collectible items.

Hi Rapid ,
In which aspect are you saying ? The design or the handling ?

Rapid867Flare - July 10, 2010 01:48 PM (GMT)
The design. The design seems too simple for me.It does not look good in fans and sometimes in flourishes. The metallic ink on the cards and box also smudges if you are unlucky.

No Rapid, for the design aspect, I might have to agree that the design is much simpler as compared to the previous versions. But, how it looks in florishes comes down to personal preference?

And for smudging, I have used them for awhile and have not experienced them, you have? Can show pics? Then lets go complain Muahaha 8D

Well , I don't have a camera that is available now.Just look at the corners of your decks.Should have some smudging while other decks do not have.
