How about Morgan coins? Bigger and expensive also.

Or old Singapore coins, slightly bigger than Half dollar but definitely cheaper than Morgan.

Start out with half dollar is fine I guess. Morgans are way too expensive unless you are talking about replica. The old Singapore coins are good too, provided if you are able to find it.

I know where to find the old coins, if interested pm me. Few of my friends are selling them.

The old coins are easy to find. All coin shops have it. Though the size is big, the old $1 coin is very thick.
American half dollars are the "standard" coins that most people use. You can also get matching g****** coins.

I think you can use any coin which you are comfy with, so that you can perform the best you can. and think you need to play around and see what work best for you

It can be a foreign coin. And if the audience ask why not a SG coin, I guess for me, I will give reasons like 1) I don't wanna use a local coin and get into trouble with local authorities, 2) This coin is much heavier, so I like the weight, 3) This is my lucky coin, my grandmother left it for me, so it has some sentimental value :P
