Are mexican turnover, top change and DL considered colour changes?

Winder - February 19, 2005 06:13 PM (GMT)
To a laymen view, i think it should be counted as a Color Change.

But i think DL is like to create an effect of taking a wrong card and change it etc...

CLJ - February 20, 2005 03:30 AM (GMT)
Snap Change (Ed Marlo)
Cardini Change (Cardini)
Shapeshifter (Marc De Souza)
Pirouette Change (Oscar Muniz)
Flippant (Looy Simonoff)
Face-up Startler (Ed Marlo)
Startling Color Change (Jerry Andrus)
Winter Change (John Cornelius)
Impulse Change (Jack Carpenter)
Inverse Impulse Change (Kevin/Justin)
TeBe Change (Ross Betram)
Paintbrush Change (Dai Vernon)
No-Palm Color Change (Dai Vernon)
Eidetic Change (Marlo)
Wink Change (McBride... as far as I know)
Starfish Change (Steve Draun)
Hurricane Change (Harry Levine)
Erdnase Change (Erdnase - Pit Hartling and Gary Kurtz have awesome ways to perform the change as well)
If ya use a one-handed palm as a face-up color change (which I used to do) it looks reallyreallyreally visual as well...yeah
Justin's Color Change, and I have no idea what it's called (um, Justin)
Huron also has a few color changes of his own but I can't really remember what they are now.

If you use passes for color changes they work pretty freaking well too. Like Steve Draun's Midnight Shift or a riffle pass (with Fred Robinson's finesse) used in the context of a color change. Those just make people go h-o-l-y-s-h-i-t. It helps if you can perform a riffle pass as well as guys like Bill Kalush/Peter Duffie/Bone/Huron/Jason Tang can too :g:

magical effects depend on the purpose.

eg. ambitious card is a transposition effect which may involve DLs, but i can achieve a changing effect using a DL as well.

p***** are essentially c***, and can be used as a control. but we can consider it a color change.

Litmus Paper

You can get it in your science lab. By far THE MOST visual color change I've seen... and they can examinie the litmus at the end. WOW.

Oh, and thanks for the mention Chris. Inverse Impulse... my baby :D

BuaYa - February 20, 2005 12:37 PM (GMT)
Just for the records, the proto type inverse impulse came from me. But a second variation was made by Kevin. Both these versions were two handed. The final product, the one handed inverso impulse is Kevin's idea... ... BUT I STILL WANT CREDIT!!!

With this guy around, there's always stale jokes...

But yeah, you forgot the test for sulphur dioxide. Use potassium dichromate on filter paper, and do a gas test, it will turn from orange from green. WOW! visual...

You want fire magic in da lab? Test for hydrogen and oxygen. A POP sound and rekindling effect. Wow... <_<

LOL. zl don't go arnd spoiling the reputation of our sch...

Universal indicator is so normal. The flame test reigns supreme over all else. The FLAME changes colour, is that cool or is that cool!

ziLin - February 20, 2005 03:22 PM (GMT)
but they are talking about paper.. but flame tests are cooL too.. magicians should incoporate it into their routines! but it has to be in the dark.

(omg, stop spamming.) :(

[Ling] - February 21, 2005 07:51 AM (GMT)
Haha, Chemistry + Magic...

Don't forget titration too... Methyl Orange indicator...

alright. :off:

Kevin - February 21, 2005 09:29 AM (GMT)
Alright J, I'll give you some credit. Like, for being the first guy I showed it too, and not liking it that much. Burr :D

Anyways, here's another cool(?) color change:

CLJ - February 21, 2005 09:42 AM (GMT)

Oh yeah, on a serious note-

The Tripper Change (My Father's Oldest Son)

My handling of a face-up visual toss change, with a natural grip. I use it for TiVo in place of the suggested change, and it's served me well. I'll show y'all sometime around :D

-Kev
