hi,

me again.....
as i am interested mainly in card effects, i will be doing mostly card reviews... please bear with me... hee hee

ok... one of the most popular card effect, among laymen, if you do perform card magic, is the card rising effect....

there are a number of card rising effect available on the market:

1. the gaffed card rising effect

this is the easiest, and i guess the most commonly used among amateur magicians... but the deck cannot be inspected... if you don't mind that, then you can consider this... but honestly, i feel this product is a bit overpriced...
rating: 7/10

2. ariston rising deck

this product is way over-rated. the effect is not easy to perform. it needs practice and worse, sometimes you can give the secret away if you are not careful.
a little bit angle sensitive.
price is ridiculous for the product you get. maybe you are payig for the secret, but i honestly feel cheated.
rating: 3/10

3. Kundalini

this card rising is created by jeff mcbride.
this effect can be done on a BORROWED deck. that is how strong this effect is. i personally love this and when i perform card rising, this is the one i use.
the deck can be inspected before and after the trick. You can BORROW a deck and perform the card rising effect. that is how strong the trick is.
reasonably priced...i feel under priced for the secret you are getting.
rating: 9.5/10

4. automatic kings by henry evans.

have heard some magicians swearing by this effect. this card rising is very clean..... i would say no angle to worry about when you are doing the card rising.....
only thing is the gimmick is deck dependent.... if you are good, you can add the gimmick to a borrowed deck... but provided the borrowed deck is similar to your gimmick....
clean and nice method...diabolical.....
but this cannot be done on a borrowed deck, and that is the reason i will stick to my favourite: kundalini.
rating for automatic kings: 8/10 because difficult to do on a borrowed deck. (but rating shoots up to 9/10 if you do not mind it not being able to be done on a borrowed deck)

hope that helps.
have a nice day
eric
