Hey fellas...

Just wondering if you wanna meet up for dinner this Thursday evening at say, 6.15pm before we head for the IF 05 Close Up Compeitition in town?

I can book us a table that this really nice place called SETTLER'S at CLarke Quay. It's a boardgame themed resturant... not just scrabble or monopoly, but they have zillions of other stuff.

Was introduced to it last Friday, with lots of trepiditation really (huh... boardgames? boring!) but i was wrong - it's a really fun place for friends to hang out and spend quality time...

just wondering. If you don't wanna go there we can also go somewhere else in town...

For those interested, i think dinner would cost less than $20/pax. Set meal consist of main dish (like, fish & chips), one free drink and dessert (ur choice of ice-cream). It's also air-conditioned ;)

I am not sure if we have time for a nice long dinner on Thursday actually, because the Close up competition starts at 8pm.
We might wanna be there by 7:45pm for the registration and other admins, plus about 20 mins travelling time means we have to leave Clarke Quay by 7:25pm if we go there? So that leaves us with only abt 1 hr of eating time, or less because i am SURE some of us are going to be late :P

Maybe we have dinner together somewhere in Orchard area near orchard MRT? Because York Hotel is just behind Far East Plaza.

Yikes... it starts at 8.30? Thought the show starts at 9.30pm but you can get your tickets from 7pm onwards... if that's the case, righto, we'll meet somewhere in town instead of Clarke Quay.

So the dinner plan still on? The suggested dinner place really sounds interesting man, not sure if I'll be able to join you guys there yet though.

yeah, there's some weird problem, because on the competition page at http://www.magicoflawrence.com/shows_ifmagic_trade_comp.asp, it says the closeup competition is from 8pm to 10pm. I will call them up and ask for us.

Hi guys... hmmm, let's just have a show of hands on who's interested in dinner @ Settler's this Thurs nite... that's of course if it's confirmed that the show starts @ 9.30pm- if it does, we can meet at Clarke Quay mrt stn ctrl and set out for the place at 6.30pm sharp for dinner. That gives us about 2 hours ++ before we make our way down to York Hotel.

Let's just wait for Morphine's confirmation after his checks with the event organisers... And yes, prepare to spend at least $20 thereabouts :) It's of course open to everyone, just let me know first so I can inform them on the number of pax by tomorrow afternoon.

BTW, I am not a veteran, but I have attended several magic conventions before (including one in Australia and one in France )
so I may be able to share some tips on how to get the most of it
( how to spend your money wisely ...during convention ...believe me you would want to buy a lot of things ...:-)
How to learn the best from those teachers,
(if you only want to learn new tricks, you will get it, but you will miss also a lot of opportunities )
How to ask smart question during the lecture
...etc
We could discuss all of those during dinner
