Knowing how to play a few chords does not make one a musician.

Just as knowing a few "tricks" does not make one a magician.

It's insane how commercialised magic has become don't you think?

However it would be pretty damn funny to crash...we could show them effects like sticking cigarrettes up noses and lighting farts on fire. All quality "clubbing" <_< magic.

Aloy - February 21, 2005 12:41 PM (GMT)
That's interesting!

Who is conducting the classes? And this CE-Laos Pte Ltd, is it a magic related company? Anybody knows?
How many tricks are they teaching for $18? What tricks?
Do they have a website or some online information? Where did you find this Alex? You member of the Single Desperate Ugly? :g:
If you are, can you bring me to your next meeting?! :!!:

I found the event listed on the SDU website under "events"

http://www.lovebyte.org.sg

No other info there though. From what I can find out, CE-Laos is not a magic related company and the prices differ from what's been posted.

AlexWong - February 21, 2005 11:50 PM (GMT)
Haha, well, all Grads are a member of the SDU automatically. I just went on to check what activities they have after recieved a letter from them.

I think SDU has to honour the prices listed on the website, and yah, I suppose I can bring some people down too. :)

TheMaestro - February 22, 2005 01:50 AM (GMT)
But the prices I found was $65 and $75 respectively :o Where did you find the $18 one?

Ning - February 22, 2005 01:59 AM (GMT)
Er... it's an SDU (you know what that means!?!?) event... do you erm, really really wanna gatecrash?

Aloy - February 22, 2005 02:41 AM (GMT)
heck, at $18 for 5 lessons, i don't mind going just to see what it's like.
Alex let us know if they are willing to honour the price on the website?

These lessons obviously wouldn't attract a lot of girls, so Ning, another great fishing opportunity for you ;) Room full of Single Desperate Uncles to take your pick! :g:

I wouldn't be too sure about that. For the Project SMILE class I attended at NUS the girls out numbered the guys 2:1.

Isn't the price on the website the $75 and $65 one btw?

BuaYa - February 22, 2005 10:23 AM (GMT)
OOH! I should send Zi Lin go tis thingy eh?

AlexWong - February 23, 2005 12:22 AM (GMT)
The one this month is advertised as 65 and 75.

Check out the one on 5th March. Its advertised as $18.

Yah, its SDU la... which means they'll be happy to have us around <grin>.

But in anycase, I think its fine la... not like you must go for a date or something.

TheMaestro - February 23, 2005 02:41 AM (GMT)
Hmm...I guess $18 is cheap enough, but 5 lessons is a lot of time to spend crashing

Aloy - February 23, 2005 03:04 AM (GMT)
Ok...i just called them....a VERY HEAVILY accented Emma spoke to me for a while <_<
She said she didn't realise the price "has been reduced to $18", flirted in that thick accent (i really hope for her sake she is not local) for a while, laughed like a banshee, and promised to call me back about it. <_<

Well, looks like high chance it's a typo.

BTW Alex, the 05 you see in the date is actually the YEAR, the date is actually 26 Mar 05 Saturday 2-3pm :g: :g: :!!:

Ning - February 23, 2005 03:42 AM (GMT)

anyways, we'll wait for banshee... 'scuse me, emma, to follow up with morphine. you guys have fun for this one :P i think i'll give it a miss...

Aloy - February 23, 2005 03:48 AM (GMT)
Tsk tsk...SDU matters you guys should ask Single Desperate Uncle like me...... -_-

SDU is NOT only open to grads. It is open to EVERYONE.
The thing about grads is that NUS and NTU grads AUTOMATICALLY become a member when they graduates, because they figured that NUS and NTU grads are most likely to turn into Single Desperate Uncles -_- :!!: so it's not all grads get in either. ^_^

M.A.D. - February 23, 2005 04:23 AM (GMT)
SDU-$18 and Non SDU-$65 <_<

O i m from SDU so $65, is worth going? who the trainer? B)

Oh well, it makes sense. Justin's one of the few (if not the only) magi attached here so he must have had some success with magic

I always thought "crashing" meant NOT paying.

I hope somebody brings a magic ding dong. Or they can do the impromptu version which occurs immediately after the "Drop Your Pants" effect.

Oh yeah, a magic Ding Dong would be THE trick to do if you wanna impress a girl at a bar. :!!:
