Heya guys.. My name's Barney (really. tat's my name). am 19 this yr. A student in Ngee Ann Poly.
I started last Dec with flourishes. Then i tried cards.. (not too good though..)
What else should i say.. I'm left handed! I have major problems when it comes to learning flourish tutorials.. I'm now forcing myself to becoming a right-handed card handler (really difficult sia). Anyone been through what i've been b4? (haha..) do share with me!
Barney..

Welcome to the forums :)
Someone was talking about how to learn from flourish videos if you are left handed before. Check out the Flourish section for more details :)

hey there... i'm a leftie too.... but from my experience, i find that it helps more when learning from videos and books...
lemme explain.. from videos and books, the performer usually shows you the sleights and moves as he is facing you.. that means that as he holds the deck in mechanics grip on his left hand, he is actually holding it on Your right side... hope you understand..
as a leftie, i think you hold your deck in mechanics grip on your right hand.. so basically everything the performer does is simply a mirror image of what you should be doing... its that simple! just follow the moves as though your screen is a mirror....
it only becomes a problem when they show you the sleights in the performer's view, that means that the video is shot from the performer's own side, and the deck is held on the left hand, and on the left side of the screen... videos/books like that can give us lefties some problems.. for that, i usually go through the sleights carefully and slowly translate them so that i can adapt to them.... yup, thats what i do...
hope this helps~
