I stress this once more, we do not teach anything so don't join in return for anything. If you are here to look for anything free, this isn't the place, i think you have made a wasted trip.

haha, how u get to know smc? fri weekly? wanna learn magic? certainly, u need to fork out some money.. free magic on net arent good.. real magic is really a hobbie that requires u to pay.. haha.. im serious.. not to buaya.. dun get me wrong.. go buy dvds, books or instant dl from penguinmagic.com--sorry penguin haters..lol..
[Ling] - February 26, 2005 05:56 AM (GMT)
Yeah, from what i have experienced when i was newer to Magic. Starting on the journey by yourself is a better way, then you will treasure stuff more etc. And yeah, free stuff are mainly assumptions of various people that AREN"T even magicians themselves. (well, sometimes...) Get the real solid stuff, either get books/DVD/Vids or you want someone to teach you personally one-to-one, try getting a membership at Magic Castle (Shaw Towers). With that, you will really progress and see real results. B)
After that, we will always be happy to give you some tips/advice here and there. B)

OH no. Please, nonononononononono. Usually I'd give some sarcastic/lightly derogatory reply to this type of thread but I'm really, really, really, really, really just sick of this.
Every day the same type of question pops up onto the forum - "plz teach mi magic, im not veri gd :P :P :P :P , u can email mi at iamawannabenwan2beliddatguyondanewspaperordavidblane@hotmales.com, i dunno how 2 do nything n i dun noe how 2 find out stuff by myself bcoz i m jus a wannabe n wan 2 be liddat guy on da newspaper or david blaine :D , lolxxx" kind of stuff, which, number 1, sounds really, just, um... annoying. Can you please, please, please at least try to phrase it so that it doesn't come off as so... wannabe-ish? (for lack of better term) Right down to the placement/overkill of the smileys. Number 2, this is a really really really cliched response in a TON of forums, but I'm gonna use it anyway because I really think it applies here - search the forum yourself before asking the same question that's prolly been answered 101 times before. Number 3, bring $300 to the next meeting. I'll teach you ALL that Justin (buaya) could teach you and in addition to that I'll offer a free "fax machines are 20th century ripoffs of the toaster" shirt.
Oh, and unlike Justin I provide free dinner too. Gummy bears, anyone?

BuaYa - February 26, 2005 07:41 PM (GMT)
Oh man! Your offer is too good.
Rand - February 26, 2005 08:00 PM (GMT)
Fierce... :o
Anyway... ermm... welcome to SMC... me new here too...
Few days earlier...
Actually Henry... I almost going to ask the same exact question u just ask here when I first came here... But before that I did some research online... and find that magic is not cheap... You got to sacrifices to gain. That y I choose to go library and online to get the book I interested in.... :D

Well.. yes .. we do spend up quite alot of money when we are in the process of learning the art of magic, some of the stuff we get might not be good while some might be very good. In terms of quality, teaching style and etc. So SMC is actually here to help you clear your doubts with any of the teaching material if our members do have reviews and opinion on them.
Somehow we are not related to any "GET YOUR FREE MAGIC TRICKS TODAY" website, we are just a forum with a "NO EXPOSURE". But rest assured we will guide you to the road of magic with some of our professional members in here.
Thats what Magicdow had say, a piece of advice for all.
"Nothing is free in this world"
Hahahaha ~
Simply love it man ~ Dow ~

Haha, lets give the guy some slack, we might already have scared him off unnecessarily. Even if he really did start off the wrong foot, perhaps we could be nicer and explain to him the way things work here and allow him the choice to stay or leave.

Hey Henry,
it might be hard to accept, but the time, money, and effort you put in is what causes the fruits of magic to bear. Take note! :D

Woah woah be nice fellas!
You can check out all those free sites on the net for starters, and if you like those, then it's definitely going to be worthwhile to spend a few bucks to buy stuff from places like PenguinMagic.com
Free effects available on the Net are very very limited, very very boring, and highly repetitive. Not only that, but theu neglect to teach you 2 very important things: Basic card handling skills, as well as presentation.
You'd learn much better from a DVD such as "Born to Perform: Card Magic" by Oz Pearlman available from Penguin. Might be a little steep, but it's a great investment to start you off on your journey in Magic.
All the best Henry! And never give up your passions in life!

Hello Henry
When i 1st join this circle i am too mad with the magic forgotten the R&R. so i asked the same question and get the same answer,
but the group will share to you when you go for the gathering, so do not worry but willing to learn from all the master, :P
anyway i still like to address all of u, yes u too as master, there is a saying 3 of us walking together one of you might be my master.
With a few very basc card and coin tricks.u can learn more from here by spend $$$ on DVD or book but that a less $$ spend when you had this in mind:Just do one trick right!.
I also totally crazy over magic But I just dunno how to do the tricks.
I wanna learn magic from you too can u help me out too? thanks B)

Yay, everyone should go around advocating exposure sites like this dude here.
If you're magic-crazy, it's not "should-be-alright-to-spend-money", it should be "you-better-dang-well-spend-money-on-stuff-or-you-deserve-to-go-join-the-insecure-little-kids-on-Barney's-show-instead".
If you're not magic-crazy and you're at this forum... yeah, you deserve to go join the insecure little kids on Barney's show too.
