I think it's only fair to let you know firstly that you can't use SG coins with the Raven. Before purchasing anything, it's best to take the time to find out what you're really getting and will you use it as much as you think you will?

It'd be prudent Gerald, to find out if the person you're getting your stuff from can be trusted or otherwise. We've got some good delaers who can probably help you out. They'd be able to help you better as they'd be more knwoledgable about the different types of Ravens in the market.

Good luck gerald ;)

you can't use SG coins with the raven unless..

haha. SG S&S rocks!

I think it's better to learn Coin Sleights rather than using the Raven. The Raven can only work with US coins.

[Ling] - March 1, 2005 11:01 AM (GMT)
Yeah, coin sleights VS Raven in terms of being practical in performances, coin sleights wins.

- Ling.

i suggest u dun get raven, in all aspects of magic, sleights should form the basis of your magic.

tygnehc123 - March 1, 2005 01:13 PM (GMT)
hmm, but coin sleights how can beat the effect of raven.. raven.. noboby handles the coin but still it can vanish.. maybe more convincing? no offence.. ^_^

neo23 - March 1, 2005 01:17 PM (GMT)
hmm i got the people from SM sayin tat dream vanish is better den raven.. any reviewers?

Defile - March 1, 2005 01:49 PM (GMT)
But the downside of raven is when the spectator asks for the coin.. unless u got a backup coin, this will be tough

neo23 - March 1, 2005 01:55 PM (GMT)
raven is for vanishin the coin only wad.. not for reappearing

Winder - March 1, 2005 02:01 PM (GMT)
Spectator is always asking for more, they will say if you can vanish, make it reappear again. Hahaha it's just like when you break a spoon, they ask you to restore it. :)

neo23 - March 1, 2005 02:05 PM (GMT)
haha yea.. but usually i take control of the performance.. not them.. :D :D :D

Winder - March 1, 2005 02:11 PM (GMT)
Usually till you meet spectators who are just as hardcore as WWE wrestlers. Hahaha ~ You will get to experience spectators like them in long run of performing, but no worry, just praise the lord. Hahaha ~

neo23 - March 1, 2005 02:11 PM (GMT)
lol i got much more to learn on the road of magi.. heh

Winder - March 1, 2005 02:13 PM (GMT)
The Raven, coin sleights get a little angle sometime but coin sleights works better than Raven if you get the hang of natural movement and fake.

dream vanish is one of the worst tricks that you can buy, in my opinion.
You have to learn to take sales pitch with a pinch of salt.

agreed ning.

anyway, yes, raven achieves a very VISUAL vanish that seems just impossible. but that is where the problem lies, it looks just TOO perfect, and i dun really want to talk about the "too perfect" theory thing, but it just doesnt leave ur audience with much options as to how the effect was accomplished.

on the contrary, it is sleights, coupled with proper psychology and misdirection, that is more convincing.

neo23 - March 2, 2005 08:34 AM (GMT)
oh i see.. haha.. yea i did a search and saw.. but its not a sleight.. not a gimmick.. thats leaves.. magic?

Daren - March 2, 2005 11:19 AM (GMT)
the dream vanish not tat good IMO... u need lots of practise to be able to perform it nicely... u needa wathc out for angles too.. and its more for a 1 to 1 kinda tingy.. so got a choice between raven and dream vanish.. i'll rather get the raven...

Ning - March 3, 2005 02:29 AM (GMT)
...Or learn sleights and you can do without both ;) Save money on props, learn a life skill. You choose ^_^

dtjk - April 7, 2005 09:43 AM (GMT)
i've never failed in getting a wonderful reaction whenever i do dream vanish. i've did this trick to a crowd of up to 7 people; as long as they're in the 180 degrees angle, its perfectly safe.

also, have the spectator to hold a coin in their palm and tell them to do exactly what u're doing, to have a better misdirection. (jus 1 person from the crowd will do, not all of them)
