everytime i do something for example the svengali routine in public...some pple will jus burst out saying...chey...LnS cards rite?! i also noe how to do...then i'll be like dunno how to respond...

how do u respond to such stuff...and wad should ur facial expression be? any particular lines which i can say to counter these 'smart alec' sorta pple or to turn down offers from the audience to inspect the cards?

Unfortunately the secret of the svengali is quite well known, I already knew such existed more than 10 years ago, even before I started magic seriously.

I don't really have a good answer but I suppose after they say that you could just matter-of-factly say yes, *slide your finger lengthwise on the cards* say "L", *slide your finger on the breadth* say "S", then keep the cards. A little corny I guess but at least you should have at least left some doubt in their minds.

You can probably avoid these by not doing the traditional Svengali routine of showing all the cards has changed into the same card.
Use it for other routines. ACRs, force a card etc......

One example of routine would be to force a card, after that you reveal the card 3 times with different way, and in the end you could put an envelope with big prediction ,"I knew you would choose .... 3 of Hearts" ( or any other card )

Never....ever show that all the cards are the same .....

Simple.. lol when some smart alec say that then say yes these card are L and S.. Long on the length wise short on the breath lol.. ok lame.. but it should works abit to shut him up a while for you do do a D**** S***** :D

i think bernard and pam already suggested the solution to this:

dun use the svengali to do the conventional svengali routine (which finishes with having all the cards the same).

btw, the ending is GREAT!

BUT, unless u accomplish it via another method, ppl who know the secret will IMMEDIATELY know how u accomplished the trick, as the svengali is the EASIEST way to accomplish that effect.

another tip, DONT riffle the pack in their face and say "NORMAL CARDS". they assume u are using one, so handle it like one. just imagine how u would handle a normal deck. for me, i would subtly *hint* that its normal by dribbling the cards down onto my left hand and having them say stop to select a card, and during that process, the faces of the cards will flash, and they naturally assume its a normal deck.

If possible, do try to indulge in the art of Sleights of hands :X It's a very good gimmick itself. Hahaha ~

Hmm...aft reading kevin's link,i feel lik buyin a svengali deck...But i dunno if it is ez to control anot..Any suggestion?I m not goin to chang all to e same cards,so wil dere stil be many tricks for mi to do wif e deck?
