Hi all, I am new here, so I dont know how often SMC members meet,
I just would like to propose that we meet regularly ( fixed date and fixed places )
so that we dont need to look for place and inform venue and schedule everytime,
Example, we meet every "first Saturday" of the month with a certain fixed schedule, or every "7th" of the month...or any other suggestion
For the meeting venue we could look for one place where we could have that place regularly .... function room, coffe house, kopitiam where we could get a nice and quiet corner (probably not in the busy hour)
What do you think ?

We do meet up every month, location is YouthPark. But the date is not fixed yet, waiting for aloy to give the green sign for the next outing. Hahaha ~

Yeah usually I set the dates because no one else organises them :)
We do meet pretty regularly about once or twice a month and we usually go to the youth park coffee shop for lack of a better place. Because it's public and relatively quiet and they don't mind us taking out our cards.

If you have any suggestions for a better place to meet, we would love to check it out.

I would be more than happy to help you set up the date,
some suggestions:
- as I mentioned, it would be better to set up a regular date
( say every first saturday, or every 7th of the month )
so that we know always when to meet next time
if some of us could not make it, that's ok, there will be other meeting for next
months, as long as there is at least one moderator
- venue : the coffe that you meet should be ok,
I may want to propose one venue : in the condo where I live, there is one function room that we could use, capacity 60 persons or even more, you have everything you need (table, chair ...), we could even set up a small stage with table for close up ...etc
we can get it for free as long as we book in advance
advantage : because it is free, you dont need to spend anything, off course you may want to bring your own bottle of mineral water, hey we go for magic, not for food and drink

but ...but ... location is not very good, it is in jalan jurong kechil, ( MRT Bukit Batok and take the bus for 5 bus stops from bukit batok )

if you are ok with this, we could visit the venue together ....

agree with you, revolutioncardmagic...
the problem is I think we need to find a good place
sometimes foodcourt or coffe could be good only for close up,
when it come to stage or parlor you need a better place
and so far, this is the only place we could have that meet this requirement
anyway, we could meet at your usual place first ...
and we can talk about it .....

Yes the location is a little problematic for regular meetings. Where possible, we wanna try to hold regular meetings in a centralised location.
But the function room is definitely an option if we hold another major event like the magic competition and need a location.

I can be at home anytime I want, I could stay overnight if needed, my parents are not in Singapore, so they will not scold me :-)
It is just that on Friday, I have another appointment at 18.00-21.00
If you make it late, I won't be able to join ....
2 solutions:
- Saturday evening ( at your usual time 17.30-22.00)
or
- You go ahead with Friday evening, I will miss it, too bad, but I will come next time

i second pam's suggestion. we shud really have fixed monthly or bimonthly dates. if any1 cant make it, too bad :) just kidding, but can come for the next 1. it also saves time and effort from having to decide when to meet. if the day is really unpopular, we can just cancel it.

Say... so how about arranging the next meetings?

Don't worry, give me some time to find new places before we can have the new outing. I am having my exams in 2 weeks time. Hahahaha ~ Stress ~
