k, im not sure where to start.

when i got it, it came with another 2 black decks (normal). so i spent about half an hour trying to figure out which of the 3 it was, when i saw the faint 4 spades on the back of the box. its so.. subtle, yet loads of effects can be achieved by this feature ALONE.

i'm sure u know all the cards that come with the deck.. if not just go and check out ellusionist again. the cards themselves are of the same, thick stock that the 2nd edition black decks are made from. however.. one of my gaff cards was cut off centre. namely, the double blank face :lol:

ok, all the cards look great. its like each card itself is a piece of art.. especially the unique black gaff deck cards (bloody king and ghost card etc.) but on some of the cards, the photoshop artwork was not done too professionally and the image appears a little bit pixel-ly, but this is only obvious upon close inspection (say, the swirled 5 of clubs.)

i tested the blue-backed ones with my blue backed deck.. its true that the D.backs/blue-backed cards are definitely not for use in a normal blue deck. perhaps a glitch ellusionist was too busy to deal with. whatever the case, i felt a little letdown by this little detail, but i doubt it would make much of a difference anyway.

as for usage.. i havent gone out and done routines using the gaff cards yet. simply coz using a black deck would be a little too ex for my tight budget (yeah right.) anyway, the black deck book is yet another piece of eye candy, as with every single card in the deck. but the possibilities with this deck is simply.. endless. no need for the black deck book actually, a simple routine with the 4 of spades as the main card would KILL, as several of the gaff cards are the 4 spades. u can just tell a looong story about the 4 spades using even just a few of the gaff cards and stuff.

well. this deck is great for collectors, great for people who use the black deck in performances (heck it could even convert people to start using the black deck) and great for everyone else. although it IS a little bit ex, but hey its surely something i'll treasure for a long time.

Hmmm so is the next meeting confirmed? I'm not sure if i can make it ... But it will be great if you can show me the deck in real life rather then checking it online....
