drop gordie a pm, i believe he has Brainstorm. the routines taught in there are quite interesting, but require quite an attention grabbing presentation to work really well (like john guastaferro himself). sleight-wise, i do not think that anything revolutionary is taught.

It is great! I highly recommend it. Its effect is powerful and can even fool magicians at times... :) its not beginner stuff thats for sure.

umm, i do believe that Sherman is referring to Brainstorm, the 2 volume dvd by John Guastaferro. you are referring to the Brainwave deck, which is indeed quite a good gimmicked deck.

do make sure you know what you are posting about, if not others reading the thread may be confused ;)

The invisible deck is good, it..

Nah, im just joking, where did u see that book, u have a link?

GordonLi - March 16, 2005 12:27 PM (GMT)
its not a book, its a DVD. and i tell u, its great!

btw, most of the stuff in my SMC competition routine was from there, so those who were following will know how strong his effects are!

I second this DVD set as well...he is so natural and relax...all the sleights executed by him do not look like sleights at all

I have the set and it's very fun and interesting. All the effects there are exceptional in their own terms, with my personal faves are the Fairy Tale Frog (the kicker ending is priceless!!!) and Detour.

Indeed, the techniques are not revolutionary and you probably know them well already (did I just rhyme?), but it's how John handles and presents the effect that makes it such good routines.

I learnt the ballet cut from the preview itself. :P

Brainstorm is good, in my opinion.

I enjoyed his performance in the dvds absolutely! He's always so relaxed and sleights look really smooth. Plus his magic is quite heckler proof in my view.

Really recommended stuff.
