Title: Hi, Jimmy Is In Town
Jimagician - March 2, 2005 12:13 PM (GMT)
Hi everyone,
Not sure if I have done a proper introduction in this forum before. But I am glad that you people have something going on here.
Feel free to PM me to discuss anything under the sky...about magic of course.
I quick introduction...
Name: Jimmy Lee (jimagician)
Profession: Senior Prison Officer,
Age: 34 yrs old, married with 2 girls
(sounds like there is a age gap here...hee hee- pretend to be cute)
Started Magic since primary 6 and still going strong
Member of,
IBM Singapore Ring 115;
Singapore Association of Magicians;
International Magician Society
Good magic buddy of Pam (REALLY!) and Magicdow
I am into Stage and Close-up magic. Done quite a bit of close-up and stage shows but I use a lot of magic in my training sessions (ah, I am a trainer in my Officer Academy as well)
Invested quite a bit in this hobby and friends in the magic circles know very well that I need to clear my magic room once every year ("laylong"). So keep a look out for my "clearance sale"
May the force be with all of you...Magicial force of course
(Sorry 70s babies are all into Star Wars I guess)
I will do what I can to support your attempts to promote the art.

It isn't neccesary to join IBM, but it sure is fun to be with a big group of magicians once a month. Anyway, this is Jimmy's seconf intro. REALLY old liao.

18 is too old... maybe younger! ;) Anyways... hope you can come to our future gatherings, they're all informal ones!
makanmonkey - March 3, 2005 09:11 AM (GMT)
hello... and welcome back Jimmy! anway i think the age gap quite small lah... between the median age of this grp and your daughters of course. :P
Jimagician - March 4, 2005 03:35 AM (GMT)
Cool, I will try to join you guys for some future gatherings.
Being a family man, I will always try to spend more time with my 2 girls as much as I can. Try to be there when they need me most. Knowing girls, once they grow up, they wouldn't want their daddy to be around. I always believe that parents shd spend more time with their kids and that can really shape their thinking and values. :D
How I juggle family and magic you may ask....well, when everyone in my family goes to bed, Jimmy will creep into his magic room (a.k.a. my study) and he will start to practise and watch his magic DVDs. Sometimes this can go on till 2-3 a.m. (next day he will look damn blur and sleepy) :(
Magic keeps me sane! (from all the stress from career and family)
I always believe that you need to do something for yourself. Magic is a great hobby. ;)
I am here to provide guidance, share ideas and add value.
p/s: Ning, too bad I am already a daddy. If not, the guys after you will have another competition...ha ha. :!!:
Aloy - March 4, 2005 04:43 AM (GMT)
Do as Pam did....start training your girls into magicians ;) Then you can have bonding time with your girls and play with magic at the same time :) And it will be a great common topic between u and ur girls ;)
Not only that, it will make it much more difficult for guys to come try to impress your girls with a few tricks in the future B) Bad for future generation of young magicians, good for the father of 2 girls ;)
Ning - March 4, 2005 04:55 AM (GMT)
Totally agree with what Morphine says... use magic as family bonding time!!! Really, why not? ^_^ It'd be awesome to have more girls in the magic community!
I'm sure you have many items in the house that's amazed them... teach them some! Or even, hey - bring them to our gatherings too, like Pam!
You'd be the coolest daddy by far in their eyes ;)
Jimagician - March 4, 2005 05:41 AM (GMT)
Trust me, they are into magic as well.
They love to see me perform for them.
My girls are much younger compared to Pam's.
When they are at the right age to appreciate magic more, I am sure you will see Jovin & Jewel tagging along.
By the way, Jovin (my elder one) can do a simple egg bag routine. Ha ha, that will put some of you to shame...Hee Hee.
Ning - March 4, 2005 06:48 AM (GMT)
Jim. Jovin. Jewel.
Lovely names!!! Especially Jewel - just like the singer :)
Bring them to our informal meetings some day Jimmy!
It'd be nice to meet them and get fooled by their wicked egg bag routines *grin*
