I am thinking of a last minute informal magic JAM at 7pm, this fri (4 mar 2005) at esplanade underpass...

I have done it once there before.. the environment there is GREAT!

hmm.. there shouldnt be any exposure basically. that means that you don't go around burning people's hands while they session or practice, and you don't ask people too much on how a particular effect is achieved, if at all. and we do not simply allow everyone to see how we execute sleights, allowing any passers-by to see and all this kinda stuff.

but what u CAN do is keep practicing. u should already know the basics, like a DL or a pass(just the basic technique i guess). and i guess it would be alright for us to guide u along.

hmm.. i shall rephrase what i just said. i don't mean to disregard newbies, i still consider myself one in most areas. its just that during IF 05, more than once when people were showing stuff they didnt consider angles, and well for those who spotted what they were not supposed to see the magic might be over.

so i guess it'll be alright to go for the session and ask around for help. after all, we're always learning.

Oh I missed it too, ended up reading a novel at home.

It was pretty interesting. And its the first time I got to meet a couple of you SMC people. Thanks for being there.

I must say, Clement is good with his linking rings! And Allan was brillant with his fire stick routine. I love fire juggling.... hahaha. Played around with pois before, but never dared use fire ones.

See you guys next gathering if I can make it. Now I feel more motivation to practice! hahaha.....

ya.. it's fun... i learnt alot esp how to talk and distraction..

it's definately glad 2 c such a big turn out, we had lots of fun n really learn quite a bit fr 1 another, except there's no table so we "perform" on d floor...

1 thing which i feels needed to discuss during such jamming is presentation, if we conduct such jams n wat we do is asking secrets fr each other then i'll find d jam useless...

I always quote feller performers: "u can study magic, u can pass with flying colours, but if u don't build up ur presentation, ur magic is just a piece of junk tat is not entertaining..."

Regarding d next jam i think Keng Ming will arrange n let us know again, as 4 d clips i think we should ask the performer 4 permission b4 we post it up as not all performer will like it if some1 copy wat they do...i personally experience some newbies (in d past) who copy my whole routine n went telling people it's their own!

other than clips, pic is alright 4 me...
