Hi people/magician,

i can understand that some of you would like to get paid while doing shows, but please take note: DO NOT undercut the market! there's professional out there and this is their livehood (me for e.g.), recently i came across some classified ads and this guy state tat he'll perform a 1/2 hr magic show cum balloon sculpturing at $50!!! this is the amt i charge for charity event (to cover cost of cos)!!! please find out the rates the hiring a professional before anyone anyhow charge...

note:

*if you charge at $50, it also means you and your standards are worth only $50!
*undercutting the market only prove that you're out for $ and you'll be spoiling your own reputation!
*if you're charging at professional rates, give a professional standard!
*you can charge lesser/lower than professional but not too low, we as professional will understand that you're new to the entertainment line...
*if you want to charge higher than market rates, make sure you're worth that price!
*if you want to try, try at charity, not birthday parties!

this money issue have been going on for quite some time and even event companys/management undercut each other as well! please for goodness sake don't give the impression of "i'm cheap and gd...", give the impression of "i'm worth my price!"

last but not least i'll like to clarify that i'm not targeting at anyone regarding how they charge, this message only serve as a purpose for understanding between professional and people who're turing professional or wants to get paid gigs...
