Title: M5
Description: Anyone got this?
Barney - March 7, 2005 05:58 PM (GMT)
Anyone here own the M5 system? Can u share ur experience and what prob u have encountered so far? Am intending to purchase the M5, but i'd like a review from a present SG owner 1st.. Thanks! :D
illusionist - March 7, 2005 06:20 PM (GMT)
Ok to me its not really practical to have it in Singapore... :D But there are really some good effects you can acomplish with this.. To me .. if you have spare cash to spend then buy if not don't bother... :D
Magicdow - March 8, 2005 01:47 AM (GMT)
You can do wonderfull effects with it. But I think this is a hassle to bring around.
Diablo - March 8, 2005 02:02 AM (GMT)
Agreed totally that its a hassel to bring it around. Nevertheless its one of the most powerful tools you can use.
Would just like to share a exprience with it...
Was eating at Marriot the other day and was wearing it on my knee... During the buffet lunch everything seems fine till the waitress came over to collect my cutlery... Which I moved(the knife) just by flicking my fingers from a distance... One of my friend immediately reach out and swap in between me and e knife hoping to find some sort of a IT, only to find air...
Everyone was
Except me :g:
Defile - March 8, 2005 12:29 PM (GMT)
woah that cool? But can u like.. switch it on/off ? wouldnt want it to go round creating havoc... eg. cutlery chasing u wherever u go
GordonLi - March 8, 2005 12:36 PM (GMT)
u can raise or lower it...
i use it, and its great!
Barney - March 8, 2005 01:11 PM (GMT)
Does it run on batteries? U mean it has a switch? Oh man..
Anyway, in America, when someone uses it, people start running away, screaming profanities etc..
But in Singapore..? I think the scare factor ain't so strong, right? I mean, for u guys who have replied to this post.. Do your friends react like the Americans? or do they say stuff like: "I know there's a trick behind it! Just that i can't see it.." <_<
neo23 - March 8, 2005 01:33 PM (GMT)
those peeps are SM told me m5 was a rip off from pk pro set <_<
tham - March 8, 2005 02:33 PM (GMT)
mine is sitting on my shelf, unitilised except when i feel bored and start playing around with it. i'm not very much into PK effects just as yet, but once i get round to watching my Banachek dvd i guess it'll be something really useful.
the M5 (pro pk kit, whichever) is simply amazing. if you are willing to put time and effort into preparing it, getting ready and planning what you want to do (well, have to practice a bit at least) then it's a worthy investment.

I didn't quite get your statement man.. Haha.. But isn't the M5 a PK pro kit in iteslf?
Anyway, thanks to all who replied! Just one more question though.. What exactly is it? --[sentence deleted...]--
I don't want my girlfriend's knife to fly to me when we're eating dinner man..
:P
Btw, PM me if the answers to my above questions are too much exposure..
Mod's Note: Please do not ask a "Yes & No" kind of question infuture... Asking someone to PM you the answer is also asking for an exposure of the product which isn't allowed here...

Why do you think it's ok to ask people to PM you the answers to above qns if you thought the answer might be too much exposure? :)
Sorry Barney, here's a warning level up to you. Solicitating for secrets is against the rules. And fishing for secrets will only make people ignore you next time you have a geniune question to ask. B)
GordonLi - March 10, 2005 07:44 AM (GMT)
anyway, pro PK kit includes the M5 amongst other things...
Defile - March 12, 2005 04:55 PM (GMT)
Will the M5 affect handphones or watches or other stuff?
Magicdow - March 12, 2005 11:14 PM (GMT)
Defile - March 13, 2005 04:29 AM (GMT)
haha.. ok im not gonna ask anymore questions in fear of exposure.. :P
neo23 - March 13, 2005 04:52 AM (GMT)
one of the m5 effects is to make a spectator's watch stop with a snap of finger.... den with another snap, made the watch go again
Rand - March 14, 2005 12:21 PM (GMT)
Actually I got the urge to buy it... just one fear though...
I am afraid that I am unable to undo certain damage...
Can advise on this? dunwan my friend to start crying...
GordonLi - March 14, 2005 12:41 PM (GMT)
i think ur concern is with the watch.
dun worry, in all likelyhood, there will be no permanent damage.
but if u are afraid of taking that risk, u can do MANY other AMAZING effects with the M5.
Barney - March 14, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
Gordie, did ya buy it in Singapore? Or did you purchase it direct from Ellusionist?
Manipulation X - March 28, 2005 02:26 PM (GMT)
I find that the M5 and PK Pro are similar products..so heres my review.
Watches..like neo23 said, can be stopped and run again. It won't do damage to watches in any way..or not at least during my 2 week of fiddling.
If you have shimming wires, foils( mostly found in DIY shops), you can move objects..like cards, matchsticks, or even force a dice.
Better still if you have REED switches, devastating effects.
The basic set should come with rings, wires, etc as stated at Ellusionist, and basically its the same for what I get for PK Pro.
If you aren't really into PK effects, I think it's still pretty worth it, beacuse you can have fun at practically anywhere. A small little price of bringing the gimmick is ok. I just use a Velcro strip and got it on my knee. barely felt a thing throughout my entire schooling hours.
GordonLi - March 28, 2005 02:30 PM (GMT)
M5 is the gimmick that does all the work, Pro PK is a package including the M5 and several other accessories.
Barney, my supply of M5's are from a non magic source, but it is no diff from an M5 in terms of looks, size, shape, strength (maybe even more powerful!).
R_jayz - April 18, 2005 03:55 PM (GMT)
umm..exactly how big is the m5, cause i don't wanna buy it and look like a idiot with a bulge in my pants.
Barney - April 18, 2005 04:08 PM (GMT)
From what i read, its about 2 x 2 x 0.5 inch.
http://www.ellusionist.com/order/M5.htmBtw, 1 inch is approximately 2.5 cm. ^_^
zhuanan - May 17, 2005 11:31 AM (GMT)
I think before getting the M5, it would be worth thinking if one wears long sleeve because to perform most of the effects, long sleeve helps...
darkmagician - May 17, 2005 12:29 PM (GMT)
ya i agree...
but i am not sure if it is a good idea to get it unless u r going to wear it most of the time and use it...
if not it might be left on your shelves to collect dust...
zhuanan - May 17, 2005 12:44 PM (GMT)
Yap, I think one of the main factors to consider is whether you wear long sleeve....and the ease of performance based on individual's factor...
Daraketh - September 25, 2005 12:12 PM (GMT)
is there anywhere in SG selling the m5?
MinistryOfBicycle - September 27, 2005 10:44 AM (GMT)

Can someone give some rating ? The Bat or M5 which 1 is better ?
sand king - October 3, 2005 11:10 AM (GMT)
i got to say the bat or the raven, the m5 is too expensive, the raven cost about
SGD 50(plus,minus), while the m5 cost a bomb.
Magicdow - October 4, 2005 01:31 AM (GMT)
So you're judging a product whether its good or bad by their monetary value?
Anyway, you may be able to compare the Bat and the M5 but not the Raven, the Raven is a totally different effect.
Daraketh - October 4, 2005 03:46 AM (GMT)
Does anyone here have anything good to say about the m5?
seems like alot of ppl who got the m5 are either letting it gather dust or selling it away
sand king - October 4, 2005 04:52 AM (GMT)
Oh I thought the m5, bat and raven were the same
haha thanks for telling me.
But I feel that the m5 is too expensive, but if u got the cash....
Mod's note, post edited. Please use proper English when posting so as to make reading more pleasant for readers. BTW, stop giving advices if you don't know anything. Afterall you're only a few days old in magic as written in your intro post.

This is really a very powerful device. Personally, i think it beats the PK ring in terms of its versatility in performing different tricks. When i performed the deck cutting trick, i couldn'ty even believe what i saw. My brother was simply amazed. Its such a powerful device. I totally recommend those who want to perform impossible magic, get this device.
vin87 - December 29, 2006 11:29 AM (GMT)
dude did you buy all these stuff all in one shot.. because woah.
[Vincent] - December 30, 2006 04:18 PM (GMT)
I bought them together in a bundle. I had a fun time performing them.
Jcy - February 11, 2007 04:00 AM (GMT)
The M5 effect is superm and powerful. although that you have to look on the darker side. It is very costly, it is heavy and a little bulky moreover its refills(props) are not cheap too.
