it depends which site u are ordering from.
shipping details are available from the sites themselves, if not, u should be enquiring with them.

If you really want to order online,
1) Check out if the shop is reputable. Try not to go for those 'ulu' kinda websites which offers stuff at suspiciously low prices. sometimes, we get what we pay for.
2) Email them before ordering to enquire about shipping charges. Depending on what u buy, sometimes the charges are too high and it will be more worth it if u order from the dealers here or the local shops
3) After u have emailed them, check out how long they take to reply. Shops that are better established have customer serive sections who are paid to deal with questions and hence can reply faster. This also ensures that you are not ordering from a 'shop' which is run by 1 person
If they take too long to reply, i would suggest find another shop.
Hope it helps ^_^

I found that by first requesting a shipping option (say.. USPS Airmail parcel post. secure for lightweight shipments) from that shop, rather than going through the shipping options they offer, shipping is probably cheaper.
Orders from Ellusionist usually take a week to arrive. Global priority shipments also arrive within a week. it is all about the shipping option you choose. UPS shipments can arrive within 24 hours, USPS Surface Mail can take up to 3 or 4 months to arrive, but the price difference between them is quite large. therefore, if you want to save shipping costs, and do not mind waiting for a while (probably up to 2 weeks for most non-surfacemail shipping options) then shipping fees are reasonable. not cheap, but reasonable.
dealers are always available. they order in quite large quantities, and therefore spend less on shipping per item. the most important part of choosing your shipping options is to BE INFORMED. www.usps.com is THE place to look at most of the cheaper shipping options. unless you are rich, in which case UPS would be a good option. the box came in pretty perfect condition, as compared to most airmail shipments (but don't worry, the goods are usually safe if shipped through USPS.)
EDIT: perhaps someone really kind could summarize what I just said into a few simple points. I am a pretty long-winded person.
