Well. Do this routine.

Card to pocket - gets her to put her hand into your pocket.
Triumph - the patter about talking to a lovely lady gives you reasons to stare at her.
Mind reading effect - A simple 4ce will allow u to hold her hand.
ACR - End your routine and get her number. Tell her you'll call. Call exactly 24 hours later. Dun seem desperate.

Listen to me and you'll do well. Shuffle between Triumph and Card to Pocket depending on the girl.

if u cannot control urself not giving away the secrets (which i fear u did), EITHER dont perform or dont do magic at all.

if u care enough and is passionate abt magic, that trivial issue shud not stand in the way.

Well, if you really want to know someone thru magic, just do one or two effects, and STOP, then chat alittle. If you do too much magic, she'll be more interested in the magic, than.. yes, you the magician.

i never--expose a secrect~~last time i perform to my fren's cousin i just say that i dun know how it was done~i say it was magic~~ and i thought tat's a very lame excuse...that's my first and onli time perform to a female beside my mother.. :P

Derren Brown has a KILLER routine, that will (i quote kenneth) make girls MELT. i'll try to find out the name of the routine, or get kenneth to post it. his presentation style is definitely unique to him, and that surely works in his favour in lady (or for that matter, ANYONE on earth) management.

btw, aloy, do you give her your SMC namecard, or which one?

i find that females who know me are all hecklers. except for a chosen few younger than me, so i just move on to a really good effect before finishing up the performance. whereas for males, those who know me generally seem to like whatever i show them. i've yet to perform for total strangers/acquaintances.. so i cannot really comment here.

that derren brown's routine you're talking about should be Zamiel's Rose, from the Devil's Picturebook.

For those who are not familiar with the Zamiel’s Rose, this is how the effect goes:


The performer tells a story of how he got started in magic when he was 6, by producing a rose for a girl he liked, but messed the effect up, cutting himself and sending rose petals all over the floor. A card is selected and returned to the deck. The deck vanishes, then one card appears. A series of cards are then produced, ending with the selected card being revealed. For the finish, the selected card disintegrates into rose petals.

It is hard for me to exprience perofrming to a gal, being in a boy's school.

There are only a few instances in which I got to perform to girls, one being at a class gathering which i did one simple snap change and they all freaked. Another recent one being this group of girls coming up to me (me being the magicman sure spreads wide and far) and asking me if uri geller was truly psychic.

I did liquid metal on them and one of them almost CRIED in shock. (serious. her eyes were WET)

but anyway, guess i cant contribute much here, with the little experience. But my advice is that when you do magic for a chio bu, dun suddenly suggest you like her... try performing something GOOD for her, something for her to remember you by.

And if she asks HOW DID YOU DO THAT? dun say something like "you are too pretty, guess magic happened" just shrug and probably smile. show your friendliness. tahts how i deal with the girls that i get to perform to.

but hey i am also from an all boys school so i guess i can't really be sure but i do perform for girls now and then... but i guess maybe i might never know, maybe for a few more years that is...

If the girl asks me to do again, I will usually say:


a) It just happened. I don't know how it happend as well...or
B) I would like to tell you, but even I myself would like to know more about it...
