Some time ago, I was approached by a member of SMC who told me that they are starting a magic shop and expressed interest in being a long-term sponsor for SMC. After some meetings and discussions, we have reached an Agreement in Principle for a sponsorship arrangement.

I am pleased to announce that SMC will be receiving long term sponsorship from TheLittleMagicShop.com, by none other than NING!

What this means is that TLMS has made a commitment that it will support SMC in terms of resouces for the future events that we organise. Meaning it will set aside a portion of it's sales to meet a determined amount for SMC event. Meaning SMC is TLMS's "adopted charity".
Can another dealer/organisation sponsor SMC too?

Wow! That's great! How is this gonna work out? As in, how and what are the items being sold? For example, is it just the more commerical products that are being brought in, or can, say, Farid sell his DVD there? Just wanted to know, cos this sounds teh kewl :P

LOL... thanks for the amazing vote of confidence Kevin! :lol: Yeah... call me crazy or just plain passionate, but i wanna be able to sponsor good decent prizes for our future SMC annual magic competitions and all... no scurrying around searching desparately and knocking on doors for prize donors or sponsors *grin* ...So yeah, I'm glad we can all achieve this win-win situation to benefit our growing community of magicians!

So if there's anything you're looking out for, just lemme know... I will do my best to get it for you! :) You have my sincere promise that prices will always stay reasonable and if situation permits, there'd be awarding perks for SMC members every month too, on my website that's still currently in construction (er, it should be up by May!) ...Watch out for it!

...And yes, that's why I haven't been my usual active self the last 2 weeks online... besides fighting the stomach flu bug (thank you all dearies, those who were so kind to actually personally ask me how I was doing!) and been bogged down with work, I'd been busy planning all this for SMC :lol:

As for Farid's wicked cool DVD... well, hey, if he wants to, why not? :) I'm always open to ideas and those who know me know I don't bite (claws only come out when really necessarily, but that's besides the point)... Farid (as I'm sure most of you already know) is OUR MAN for cups and balls and has created some wicked routines in his original instruction vid! Please note, that TheLittleMagicShop is not just a biz... it's more than that. I'm just here to support fellow magicians with their needs and then some ^_^

LOL... small steps... it's gonna be an online shop first. Should things go well with the pasisonate support from SMC members, hey who knows... maybe we could even have a Magician themed restaurant/ shoppe in the near future :lol: ...but well, so far, Ning only have budget to start her first online shop *grin*

Like other online stores, you pay first (i won't do the credit card things since like, 98% of us don't carry one) so u can pay first by either meeting me in town every Friday evening, and I'll proceed to help you with your order ASAP so you get it the next week.

Yep, you can pick it up on the following Friday. Swift, easy, no hassle. Those of you with ATM cards can also do fund transfer so you don't have to come down to town on Friday evenings, just one single meet up with me to get your stuff the next week when it comes in :) That's how the system goes in a nutshell...

So yeah Winder, I hope to be able to have a brick and motar shop... someday, hopfully soon, in the near future :lol: But for now, it's just gonna be www.thelittlemagicshop.com (coming your way soon this May 2005).

...I'd been real busy, and hadn't had the luxury of spending quality time on SMC the past few weeks... but anyways, as promised... I'll be bringing in a wide range of magic stuffz @ Pam's on 2 April.

Latest news guys. Due to some admin and logistic issues that I have overlooked, Ning will NOT be having a dealer's table on the day of this meeting. But the meeting will still carry on as usual. Sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment.

Sorry, it was something I overlooked. -_-
The function room that we booked has a condition that there shouldn't be commercial activities in it, i.e. no buying/selling. For that reason, we decided it's best that we cancel the little magic shop's table for this meeting for this event.
However, if anyone of you wants something from Ning, she still can pass the items to you on that day at the meeting. :) Just no table to display her wares.

In response to some feedback and suggestions from the forum members regarding the little magic shop's booth and catalog. As "make up" for cancelling the table on the 2nd of Apr and preventing a flooding of Marketplace, I am setting up a TEMPORARY section under Marketplace for Ning to display her goods ( ;) B) ).
Please feel free to browse thru her goods ( ;) B) ) and you may request her to bring any item for you on the 2nd of Apr.

Thanks for all your comforting words of support and ideas on how to work around the SMC magic booth idea since the inital launch pad thingy was scrapped due to logistics reasons...

Morphine has kindly offered The Little Magic Shop a temp "booth" in Marketplace... I'll work on posting some of my items for sale there shortly. Let me know if you need my help in anything...

perhaps it might be good if smc members are told what % of the sales will go to smc, so ultimately, we know where our money is going.

I am NOT gonna make myself or SMC accountable and auditable to everyone on an open public forum??! MAYBE, to SELECTED core members, but surely not at a forum where everyone can come in.
Dispite numerous repeated requests from many different people, I have always INSISTED that we are not going to collect ANY MONEY from the members pool of SMC and chose to pay thru my own pockets and source for funds ourselves. The reason is because of the demographics of our members who are generally quite young and i don't wanna extent the pressure of a membership fee on them, and the other is because I wouldn't want a situation where we have to report to every tom, dick, harry about how we spend our money.
This is not NKF boy B)
