Title: Mini-earthquake

Kevin - March 28, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
Holy Crap! So I was just sitting around, watching the movie Trainspotting, when all of a sudden this MAJOR shaking occurs, and at first I dismiss that it's just me having too much Red Bull. But I go to take a piss, and the lights that hang from the ceiling are SWAYING BACK AND FORTH, and the winchime downstairs is ringing like crazy... God it was so scary :(

I live in the East Coast, but most of you are probably asleep now anyways. Thanks god that nothing major happened. And yeah, the movie was good ;)

I live in the West too but dint feel the tremors

Heard in the morn news on FM 90 that there was a massive quake somewhere in the east of sumatra at new 1 am or so this morn

Killed another 300 peopl or so and had a mini tsunami only hitting about 10-15 cm so its considered non destructive tsunamis

Man so many natual disasters these few months *sigh*

why singaporeans always feel the EQ ?

Our HBD are not anti-EQ, so what if only day the damage from the next EQ, not very powerful, but because of all the shakes and whooping happen before in the past, the whole HBD give way ? See how our HBD blocks stack together... like fanning a deck of card, so close together... are we safe ?

ARE WE SAFE ??

ARE WE ??

Or we are not.... ??

My sis was awake then.
Amd she was reading a novel in her room (which is also mine), then she saw the windchime oscillating in a weird manner. Spooked of that sudden gyration of the windchime bob, she stood up, and felt abit dizzy. Then she thought there's a ghost in the room, wrecking havco.
Then today, she asked me to interpret the happennings, at first I said 'Oh maybe, the windchime became a possessed pendulum.' Then i said, 'Tremors from that Earthquake lar.' Haha, scare her!

I was sleeping like a log (or ln - Logarthims!) then, sweet dreams. :D

- Ling.

i think apocalyse is nearing, seriously. We are all gonna die.

I hope things will only get better after the earthquake in Sumatra :( News reports say experts predict there might be another hit to follow soon after...

Life's so fragile, isn't it?

All was silent at 12.10am. I could hear nothing but the blissful sound of crickets and my hands on the keyboard.

I was frantically trying to type a poster for my dad's shop. My Chinese is crap, so I needed help of translators (thanks afoi).

Then suddenly, I felt my chair shaking and my body was vibrating violently.

I had let out a ruptous fart.

lega-nya...

interestingly enough, my aunt who's a geologist called us from Malaysia telling us to expect tremors. so there I was, quietly doing my homework until about 1am. no tremors.

called up my aunt, she babbled something about 'bedrock' and whatnot, me staying in landed property and stuff. before getting disconnected.

30210162: coincidence? I doubt it :ph43r:

Tsunamis could happen in Singapore too.
If the Earthquake had hit slightly lower on the world map in december 26th, the tsunami would have gone down a channel of not sure what and woulda hit Singapore 5 times as hard as the latest disastrous one. Scary stuff.

Well, my uncle in Malaysia called to say that he felt the tremors in KL.. but I didn't feel any since my house is rather low-lying.
