Description: good finish?

JamKid - October 3, 2004 02:17 PM (GMT)
any1 has any crazy idea on how to end a ACR?
any good twist u guys can think of? like the card raise all the way to the top of ur head, or better, the victim's head?
just ideas??? anyone???

illusionist - October 3, 2004 02:20 PM (GMT)
Try the card end up in your shoes hahahha or in your mouth like card to mouth or in the wallet hahahaha...

Card to impossible location is quite common finish. Generally very popular.
The card raising all the way up to the top of head is an interesting idea. Shouldn't be difficult because after the 2nd raising, the spec should be BURNING your hands already. Raising to victim's head is slightly more tricky.

How about "raising" the card off the deck? Floatation....

How about this end that the spec card tear it into pieces and put in you pocket and say oops sorry it and accident and ask them to choice another when they have done you tell them you find something funny and take off your shoes give a few hits and a folded card felt out and its their sign card hahaha... :D

ron_magic - October 3, 2004 02:37 PM (GMT)
drawn out!!! A "deck of card" is drawn and the selected card rises like a cartoon to reveal selected card.

JamKid - October 4, 2004 04:25 AM (GMT)
sounds like card-toon...

I usually end with card to mouth. Kudos to Solomon for first showing me this killer closer ;) But....

The Card keeps going UP, right? So after about 387638763 times of the card rising up to the top, you snap, and it's not there! it's actually HIGHER... on the ceiling! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Anyways, a climatic transpo is always fun. Like in their wallet, up their hiney or whatever. Joy

Card on ceiling is an interesting idea. Not very likely to be detected as well coz they will be looking down at your hands. And fit the general script. Good idea.
How about card to top of head, followed by card to ceiling.

JamKid - October 5, 2004 02:01 AM (GMT)
rite now i always do card to mouth, it get a good laugh especially when everyone else but the victim's already saw it but the victim's still trying to catch any move i have

i think raise rise is really good. one of my favourite sleights. but damn tough to pull off. i think only huron and bone can do that well.

Raise Rise is AWESOME.
The move used is the Ambitious Riser Move by Fred Robinson. It is very versatile and can be used for colour changes and of course the famous Raise Rise. You can even use the move to switch packets of cards. Imagine the Exchange gimmick, with pure sleight of hand.
Regarding a CRAZY way to end an ACR? Purchase Gaeten Bloom's new effect... The Escalator. It's expensive at $99.90 USD... but when you watch the video, your eyes will pop... and it's not cause of the bad quality. It's so freaking visual.

How about making the card change back. Dark Card style?

CLJ - October 11, 2004 06:00 AM (GMT)
Sankey used to have a really nice ending to the ACR (used to? What am I talking about? He still has it...) called Rubber Band Rise on Sankey-tised. I used to perform it quite a lot. I don't now. I've forgotten entirely how to do it. :)

Tommy Wonder also has a pretty darn nice ACR routine on his Visions of Wonder set. :D

ive been thinkin about this for a while..how about u tell the person how the card is special because they signed it..and at the end u jus 'rub' the signature off and erm...say that the deck is now restored n every card is back to normal..=)

That sounds like one of the effect in Gregory Wilson - Pyrotechnic PasteBoards.

However, i like the idea of card to ceiling, but to get the card up to the ceiling without anyone noticing, will that be a challenge ?

Imagine:

Magician: Now the Card Rise up to the Top

Magician: Oops.. Where did it go this time ?

Magician: Ah Ha... Up There !!!

Spec: STUNNED!

Think of Card through window using Windowmation and you can achieve the same result for card on ceiling without the spectator (or for that matter anyone else) knowing :)

RubberBand Top Rise IS EASY BUT VERY NICE WAY TO END.
jay sankey stuff.

Basically its the decked wrapped up in rubberbands. Have the spectator check the top card , its not on top. Do your magical gesture and they check again. Then.. you know what.

I 'm thinking of getting Michael Ammar's Card to ceiling to achieve it ^_^

Personally I don't like Michael Ammar's card on ceiling. Find it really dull when I first saw it.

About ACR, I came up with a few endings in the past. Though they are quite common and standard, still playing around with the methods though:

Card ends up on ceiling
Cards ends up on the ceiling of the top floor of the building
Cards end up under my shoe; I am stepping on it.(I prefer this to inside, because it fits my presentation, and also a much stronger image.)
Or maybe it was so ambitious: it rise all the way to outer space..... disappeared. (Ok, this is lame.)

A few other ideas: Card shown on top of face down deck, turned face down. Flip the deck face up and it's now the face of the deck.

^ very interested to know what u would recommend for a card to ceiling effect ?

Mod's note: Post deleted. Please use proper punctuations to make reading easier. You have been using comas all the way. Break your post into paragraphs to make things easier for everyone. Thanks.

Icy - November 16, 2006 02:38 PM (GMT)
One that I like is Annemann's method described in a dover book. Also described in his Jinx magazine. However, I think you might not be interested in that effect. It's not really very practical.

However, as an ACR ending, surprise is an important element that we should play with, meaning it requires a completely different method.

phsycofreak - November 17, 2006 05:25 AM (GMT)
sorry about that, i thought using commas made it easier to read. Ok where else can raise rise be found other than ray cosby's impossible card magic DVD

I don't think it's on any particular volume of ammar but rather a trick sold on it's own under ammar's name
