The effect:: a spoon visually bends in you hands like the spoon bending in T.H.E.M... Price is USD$39.95 . You can do this trick surounded.. I just got it today and I will bring to sch and try it out so to give a better review of it... but all I can say when you get it you don't think it worth that much... <_<

it uses a gimmick.

The spoon is gimmicked, and I must say I really see no need in a gimmicked spoonbend. It's like doing a color change with the Blink gimmick when you can use a Flip-it move.

Ungimmicked spoonbends taught in video like Banachek's Psychokinetic Silverware, Patrik Kuff's Metal Bending- The Real Work, and Morgan's Liquid Metal teach bends that are even superior to the effect you see in the demo video.

The day I'd buy a gimmicked spoonbend, is when the spoon doesn't bend where you're holding it. Holding the spoon where the 'melt' occurs just ruins the visual aspect of the bend. Sure you can see the sides of the spoon bend, but if you had mental powers, why hold that exact spot? Have you watched the matrix?

This visual effect can be accomplished with non-gimmicked bends and simple subtleties. So I'd say don't waste your money. This effect's only saving grace is that the spoon can be examined. But if your spectator say 'Hey do it with this other spoon'. You're pretty screwed. Just my two cents.

Hmmm... since we're on the topic of spoon bending, anyone has a copy of the Side Effect by Guy Bavli? Do share your comments pls :)

I also have nail bending effect. I think is not worth as if u do it more than 3 times the nail can be thrown away! I prefer spoon bending by misdirection and finger strength!

Oh yeah! I recommend Jerry & Banachek's PK Silverware to anyone seriously interested in spoon/fork bending! B) You can use any fork or spoon... the best ones to use are the ones @ the kopitiam when you're having lunch with friends! LOL...

JamKid, can you ellaborate more on richard osterlind's routine? He's got a few... which ones do you use? Thanks :)

the one that i'm doing basically has 2 major pharses.
1st the spoon/fork is held between the 1st n 2nd finger with the tail end sticking out. the tail start to bend itself visually in front of everyone, n the spoon is shown bent openly, this can be repeated twice or 3 times, i normally do it twice.
next, the spoon is held at the end of the tail using thumb n 1st finger. the spoon continue to bend before the audiences' eyes visually until it is more than 90 degree bent or more.

sounds like mind bender to me

mind bender can only show the bend this much before showing the spoon bent..
his routine can show the spoon bending from straight to about 45 degrees n is much more visual. personally i feel that this is much better than mind bender
