Title: Bee Cards
StrykerZ - April 13, 2005 08:41 PM (GMT)
I have one quick question are Bee cards ACed? I'm planning to get some but dunno if they're good. I'm referring to the ones that can be bought at 7-11.
Kevin - April 13, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
Yes, Bee cards are Air Cushioned. The cards are of good quality, and I personally prefer the Club Special Bee's availible at Golden Landmark.
The only thing that irks me is the lack of borders... but hey, you can't have everything! :D

Just to add on where Kevin has left off:
The Bees sold at 7-11 are the normal ones where the back are all diamond desgined. Quite confusing for the eye due to lack of borders. Otherwise, its quite good stock.
fyi: All Bees are actually 1 way backs. but in a very subtle way
Alternatively there are also WPT Bees which come in white or black backs. Not the regular diamond designs.
PS: Sorry for the edits but i realised that i was making the mistake of using "SMS" style in some parts and had to change it.
tham - April 14, 2005 02:50 PM (GMT)
after making loads of comparisons between my World Poker Tour bee decks (white and black) and my normal non-Club Special bee decks, I have come to the conclusion that WPT decks are nicer, although quality wise there is almost no difference.
black WPT decks look fantastic though. the white ones are not too bad too. the red and blue ones are bordered too, but do not look that nice.
stick with the Club Specials. although I myself do not own one of these decks, I've handled them and they are.. slick. much better than Bikes, something like Tallys but the bee design just.. grabs other's attention.
note: certain supermarkets have started stocking up on FAKE bees, non-club special design. the quality is pretty much like the basic china-made lousy decks, and for this quality the price is overkill. CAVEAT EMPTOR. personally, just go to 7-11 and get them or something. I got mine from overseas.

Mine says 'club special'.
Mine's totally diamond backed.
Mine does not have the bee designs on the back.
Mine cost SGD$1.
Go figure. B)

are they air cushioned?i found the cards are sticky and hard to do a fan...

sry, i guess i make a mistake...
i actually wantin to ask
Are they good ? (Are They Air Cushioned ?)
Andy - April 15, 2005 02:28 PM (GMT)
I don't think the anime cards are air-cushioned.
Went to comics connection today and looked closely at them. Didn't see any texture on the surface.

sorry. a little side note here.
when it says Club Special on the box, it does not mean it has the bee design. the only way to tell if it has the bee design is to look at the BACK of the card box. a normal bee deck would not have any cellophane window and such, just showing an incomplete back design with "casino quality" and once again, "club special". so it is actually pretty misleading to say that all Club Special bees have the bee design on the back.
from my experience, Club Specials with the bee design come in a box with this cellophane sheet on the back that allows you to see the bee. then again, I'm not too sure, as I do not own a deck myself. perhaps Huron could clarify..

Yup!
You are right. The Club Special with the Bee design have a small window at the back of the box showing a BEE.
actually they are all called "Club Special"
The main difference is shown at the top of the box. Bees with no BEEs (no punt intended) have "No. 92" on top. This can be bought in any 7-11.
while Bees with BEES (again no punt intended) have "Casino Quality" on top.
And of cos, they have the window at the back to see the BEE. I bought mine at Golden Landmark.

I find the 1 with the "Bee" on it looks good for flourishing, but i love the plain back simply for Manipulations and Magic. Looks "confusing" when you ask someone to pick a card, and you spread cull it. Hahaha no one ever notice it.
Wow.. Cool.. Seng hoe those are cool stuff man .. Where did you get them ?
SeNgHoE - April 16, 2005 03:35 AM (GMT)
I got dem on the net. Im selling them 18 bucks. For 2. Purple and black.
I only got a pair.
Brendan - April 16, 2005 04:04 AM (GMT)
hey... i like the mindplay bees ... looks super cool. will be great for flourish.
where can i get them from? where on the net? is it sold anywhere in spore?
Desmond - April 16, 2005 04:07 AM (GMT)
maybe try ebay...
you should be able to find them there ;)
retsevlys - April 16, 2005 04:44 AM (GMT)
Bees are good. not very good. but good. yes g.o.o.d
The club special is thick and awesome.
Also since there's the bee design on the back of the cards, it can be good for magic and stuff. Like making the Bee's appear or disappear. One by one is also possible. (Sh*t, i make a lousy magician)
In TCC and Peanutbutter and Jammyfish (WTF?) there are clips of the Club specials in action. Both magic and flourish. Nothing much tho.
NO! NO! NO! _|_

I don't think that you should be buying decks from 7-11. Almost everything you see there has its original price jacked up a little. Sometimes, a little way too much. Try bookstores, mama stores, minmarts and supermarts. You may be surprised at what they may have.
SeNgHoE - April 16, 2005 03:00 PM (GMT)
Magicb,
I can sell you the bees if you wnat. Free shipping if the shipping fee is under 3 dollars.
StrykerZ - April 17, 2005 12:23 PM (GMT)
i tried a couple of mama stores and provision shops around my area but to no avail.. guess i'll be going to golden landmark soon.
SeNgHoE - April 17, 2005 12:56 PM (GMT)
Consider taking my bees if Brenda doesnt want them, :D

For more info (on how to get there, a more precise location etc.), u can pm me. ^_^
