Title: Any Dvd Recommendations?
Barney - April 23, 2005 03:04 PM (GMT)
I've got a friend who's got into flourishes not too long ago. He managed to pick up much stuff just by watching others' vids from Magic Depot etc.. Well, i'm now trying to get him to at least purchase a XCM DVD.
Which DVD (just one only) would you recommend? Take note: He isn't a complete beginner.
He's particularly looking for one that is able to "keep him occupied and learning for months over". Any ideas on which DVD may do the trick? I was thinking of recommending him the System. Or is there something else which has more stuff in it? ^_^

Hello. XCM dvd? get him Cradle To Grave. That would keep him busy for quite awhile.
OR
You could get him the Xtreme Beginnerz DVD which will be out soon. Teaches most of the basics and really cool stuff for sho.
Flourish wise, Brian tudor's materials are good.
OR
Just wait for other dvds to come about.

depends on what kind of flourishes you are interested in...
but both are still very good to learn from ;)

Hold up.
Why is everyone reccomending showoff 1 when most of them don't even have the actual thing? Honestly, I'm aware that y'all know about how it's cool (and it is), but it's extremely phony when you come out and promote something you don't even know well.

Thanks for clearing the air, Kev!
I mean, for me (and the friend i was recommending DVDs to), it was real confusion. Go see other threads, esp this:

^_^
Ain't it quite contradictory to direct me (and other noobies) to DVDs that are already out of production?
To elaborate my quesiton further (the one right at the start of this thread), i'm looking to help my buddy PURCHASE DVDs. B)
Anyway, thanks all.

yup. it's really weird. like me asking somebody to get the original, seperate Color Series by Phil Goldstein (Max Maven, whatever).
just in case you didn't know, Showoff 2 is a VHS tape. not a dvd. still rocks anyway.
